Upgrade ticket to DVC annual pass??

We are planning a trip this August. I have not yet figured out if we have any other trips in the one year after that timeframe.

If I purchase regular 8-day tickets today (so that I beat the price increase), can I upgrade some of those tickets to a DVC annual pass in August when I have a better idea of our plans for next year?

Yes, as long as you do it within 14 days of first using the ticket.

Correct. That way you lock in "that day's prices" and get full value of the ticket for the upgrade.

Is it possible to upgrade from an 8 day to a 10 day after the first use and then upgrade a few days later to a DVC Annual Pass?
Also, do the unused passes from Undercover Tourist have to be used by a certain date (like the ones at Disneyland do)?

Also, do the unused passes from Undercover Tourist have to be used by a certain date (like the ones at Disneyland do)? No, unused WDW passes do not expire.
