I'm seriously thinking about upgrading our Studio at OKW to a 1 bed appt.

When i booked i got Free Dining and the 42% - if i ring to upgrade will all the benefits i got have to be paid for - or would they just charge the additional extra for the room?:confused3

who did you book with - can't help as I am waiting for the same answer. I booked with complete orlando and they think I will loose the ddp ect if I choose to up grade, but I am waiting for them to get back to me. I asked on the main resort part about ugrading on arival , but most answers stated that I would be unlikely to do so and if by luck I could the new price would be rack rate US price :scared1:

My thoughts are you might get to keep the free dining but can't see you keeping the discount, they will charge you the current rates.
You will have to ring and ask, only way to know for sure, you can say no if its too much.

I booked directly with Disney Uk. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks Wayne - might do that. I'm abit sad and don't like taking much luggage so prefer to wash clothes- and i now realise i would have to do through laundry services and not in the comfort of our hotel room. As you know its so humid in July/August so need lots of change of clothes :rotfl:

There are laundry rooms next to the pools - they are free. Could ou wash while you swim?

How did you get on, Karen?

Hi Sharon,

Rang them today to check- lovely lady said it would cost an extra £600 (12 night stay) and I would get to keep all my extras and discounts - so Free Dining, $150 voucher etc.

This sounds quite good to me, but can someone advise me if it is - I panicked a little and daren't change it at the time :confused3, as I thought she would just say i'd lose everything.

I found the washers by the pool to be really handy - as only studios use them it wasn't busy - only saw 1 other person using them.

But if you want to upgrade for other reasons it seems a great price.

Just priced up 14th-26th July (I think your 12 nights?)
The price for a studio now without discount would be £2652, 1 bed would be £3624, approx £1,000 more, if they are offering it to you at £600 they are still giving you the 40% discount on the upgrade.
Wouldn't expect that so a great deal if you go for it.
I can think of better things to do with £50/night myself, others wouldn't hesitate.

Have gone ahead and booked it!:cool1: Invoice come through and everything as before - so huge relief!

If i say it as an extra £50 a night i can live with it! I have budgeted for everything now, so can afford this nice extra - no excessive luggage (only coming back) :good vibes

Will be lovely to have the extra room - but would have definitely stayed with the studio if we were only there a week!

Thanks everyone for their help.:thumbsup2

I did the opposite! I booked a 2 bed at OKW and then down-graded to a 1 bed to save myself just under £1000. I decided that an extra room wasn't worth that much to me.:confused3 Having said that, I couldn't bear the thought of all 5 of us in one room at POR, whereas others have no problem with that.:)

Wow! Thats some saving! Like i said I would't have changed it if i hadn't got all my discounts and extras as before - and if it was only for a week - I would have left it also.

DH does like a separate bedroom though :rolleyes1- so that's my excuse to him for changing it aswell.:rotfl:

It's good to have a separate room if you have kids.:) I paid an extra £300 to upgrade to the Disneyland Hotel at DLP and that was for 3 nights!:scared1:

Hi All , hope you don't mind me jumping onboard but you say the laundry rooms are free at OKW ? Can someone confirm that as I keep getting different answers.
Thanks

They were free when I stayed there 2010 and not seen any different posted.

You provide your own powder.

You do pay at the all star resorts.

Yes the laundry machines are free at all DVC resorts as they are only used by people staying in studios. All the other villas have in room washers :goodvibes
