Here now--I have a Parksavers 5 day hopper + WPF&M. I plan to upgrade to a platinum plus. I had to go to GR at Epcot yesterday for a different thing, and checked on the upgrade price. My calculations tell me the upgrade should cost $419.61. The price quoted to me was higher (about $60 more, I think, around $484. What should the price be?

I plan to try again, but is there anything specific I should try to say to get it done correctly and to avoid an argument?

Nope. Either the CM will know how to do it or they won't. It's just a game of roulette getting one who knows the right way to do it
If they give you the wrong price just politely ask for a supervisor to check the transaction as you think it should be less.
But it shouldn't be an argument.
I will say in our 3 times to upgrade (knock on wood) we've gotten CM who knew exactly what to do and did it correctly

New question/scenario-I haven't used any of the + options yet, and it looks like I may not on this trip. I could just upgrade to the Platinum pass, and then upgrade again to the Platinum + later, if needed, correct? I'm calculating that upgrade at $334.41

I know for sure you can upgrade to the regular AP (no water park) choice if you haven't used a WP+ option on the ticket.
I don't know about changing to the WP+ version later though, sorry.

Yes, you can, but the expiration date will still be the date from your first use, not from the time you upgrade. So you'd have to count that in when considering if it's worth it to upgrade, or just buy one day tickets to the waterpark.

You can upgrade from one type of AP to another at any time during the AP's year of validity.
But, as indicated, the cost is not prorated.
