Upgrade question?

I have booked the AKL pool view room for Oct. If I got a discount on the room only rate (which would most likely be for standard room only) can I change to a standard room (if available of course) and then pay the difference to upgrade to a pool view or Savanna view room?
I really didn't want a standard view room.

Savanna view should be available for a discount, it's usually not just standard view. Depending on how many rooms are available.

I would always book the view I'd be happy with. As mentioned, pool and savana rooms will prob be discounted too.

Booked two rooms at AKL for our stay this past January with a general public discount. All regular rooms were offered with dscount. Pool view ran $10 more than standard view when discounted, came to something like $195 per night.

Btw..how did u like AKL? I was doing 10 days there, but we've decided to split stay and do 4 nights AKL and 5 nights Poly.

I agree with the PP about the savanna rooms generally being discounted -- there are lots of those rooms and whenever I've booked a discount there were savanna rooms available.

Do you know if the savanna rooms were generally around 30% off? I know standard view rooms are normally that, but just curious about the Savanna? Is the view worth it? I have a pool view room booked, but now really interested in getting the Savanna view room. Also, would you happen to know if the Savanna view is better or the Arusha (sp?)

Arusha view is a view of the main savannah. You used to be able to request that particular savannah when you booked a savannah view room. But so many people did that, Disney finally made it a booking category instead of a request.
