Is it still possible to upgrade UT tickets? I know you used to be able to after the first day was used but I remember there being some discussion awhile ago that it might change? What is the current policy?

There hasn't been a policy change. Somebody posted that there was a new policy which stopped price-bridging. It wasn't true, and a retraction was made. Disney policy remains that if a ticket (other than one bought directly from Disney at its ticket outlets, or online, by mail or willcall), is used thru a theme park turnstile, that ticket is eligible for price-bridging as long as there are still assets remaining on the ticket and within 14 days after first use. Eligible tickets include resort package tickets (WDTC), tickets from The Disney Store, and tickets from authorized third party resellers such as UCT, AAA, MapleLeaf, etc.

Perfect, thank you. We used UT for our Universal tickets last year and I am considering doing it for this trip if no package discount like free dining etc is released. So I can add days, PH, etc? As long as I haven't used the last day? Can I do this at a hotel or does it have to be inside a park?

Your hotel personnel aren't trained ticket experts and don't have access to the ticketing computer used at ticket booths, guest relations, etc. If you have already used your ticket thru a theme park entrance, you can do your upgrade (all of the ones you mentioned) inside or outside a theme park, at a ticket booth or guest relations. Also guest relations (2) at DTD.

Just to clarify, you can do your upgrade on the day you're using your last theme park ticket. It's the day after that when the ability to upgrade stops (or 14 days after first use).

Know what your original ticket and your target ticket are worth at current gate price. The difference is what you'll owe. Multiply x1.065 to get the sales tax. If a CM quotes a higher price, they didn't price bridge. There are a few CMs who don't know this transaction and will insist it isn't policy (they're wrong!). Just politely take your tickets back and go to another CM who knows how to properly proceed.

I upgraded a 6 day park hopper,non-expiration ticket from UT to a 10 day, non-expiration, park hopper.....no problems. Just paid the price difference. :thumbsup2
