upgrade PH to AP?

I exchanged some reward points (HiltonHonors) for a 4-day Park Hopper Plus admission ticket. The PHP card arrived in the mail today. When I go to WDW in October, can I use it to upgrade to a AP? If so, how much $$ credit will WDW give me towards my AP?

This can be a really complicated situation, so the first thing I'd direct you to is this very extensive page on WDW tickets at AllEars :

This won't give you a specific answer about your passes, but explains how the upgrade system works in general. You will need to contact Disney directly for exact information on the passes you have - as you will only get the value Disney was paid for them credited to you. Since in this case they were rewards for a non-WDW program, I honestly can't say. I do know that things like convention tickets and other "free" admissions cannot be upgraded.

Good luck, and although the page above is very informative, the best thing you can do is call WDW with your passes in hand (they will likely have you read the serial numbers) and they can tell you what your options are.

WE upgraded our PHP's in April as we were pretty sure we were going to go back again this year.

WE had used our hoppers for 6 days...as I understand it they MUST be upgraded within 7 days of the FIRST use.

I know for our kids it was only about $40.

Can't remember for adults, but it was a LOT cheaper then buying new hoppers.

Now if the AP codes would just come out from hiding...we'll be all set for our trip in Nov.

By the way you can only upgrade the hoppers at the guest services at each park...don'r know about DTD.

You can't do it at the hotel guest services.

I am curious to know how long it took to get the PHP after applying the reward points. I thought about this last summer, but felt I wouldn't have enough time for the tickets to arrive before leaving on my trip. I have since used my points for a room stay, so I'm saving again. This time I want to get the Disney tickets with my points!

Once I called Hilton HHonors and requested the ticket, it arrived about 7 days later via Fed EX ground.

I called the 407-WDISNEY number today and asked them if I would be able to use my PHP ticket I recieved from the Hilton HHonors program and upgrade to a AP. The cast member informed me that I would have to go to Guest Relations at one of the theme parks or at DTD to make it happen. I asked him what $$ value Disney would give me for the PHP, and he said that since it is a promotional ticket he did not know. He said that guest relations would look into it for me when I go to upgrade the ticket.
Given that we will have to get DH a PHP anyway for our Oct trip, I think he will just use the promo ticket and I will pay outright for an AP for myslef (I have some trips planned that DH will not attend).
