Upgrade on Airtran

I thought I read somewhere that when you check in with Airtran, you can see if they have any Business Class available and if so it's only $35 to upgrade.

Anyone have any experience with this

Yup, this is true. We did this on our last trip to WDW a few months ago. We thought it was worth it simply for being allowed to sit first, unlimited drinks and the very wide seats in particular! It was easy to do. Just ask if it's available when you either check in or when you get to the gate and they'll take care of it. Only takes a minute.

we upgraded with credits by phone but you should call and ask how to do it.

you can try at the gate desk when you get there for your flight but they might not have any left.

its $35 for short flights
$50 for intermidate and I think $75 for cross country.

and it's for one-way only.

I think I'll give it a try. I would need four though so I would assume my chances are slim, not a bad deal though.

Do all of their planes have this option? I'm flying direct from Milwaukee to Orlando so not sure if it's worth it to me or not, but sounds kinda intriguing!

Upgraded with AirTran from Philadelphia to Orlando in January. Cost $50.00 each way. Was great!!!!!! Will do it everytime if available.

Yes, upgrading is not a flat fee of $35. It depends on the length of the flight. You can call them ahead of time to find out what the charge is. Worth the extra $$ for me
