Good Morning everyone.

18 days and counting!!

I am thinking about upgrading from our QP to TS for $240 upgrade charge (holiday season) and I'm curious about your opinions.

We are: 2 adults 2 children 5, 8 travelling 12/21 - 12/28 POP 7 day with our hopper

I have the following ADR

12/21 Chef Mickeys Dinner
12/22 Yak and Yeti Dinner
12/23 Crystal Palace lunch
12/24 Hollywood and Vine lunch
12/25 Chef Mickeys Dinner
12/26 Via Napoli dinner
12/27 Sci-Fi dinner

Would anyone tweak this or change. I've tried to get AK Character ADR but not able to yet. Same with Ohana.

We are doing Early Mornings when available is this smart or will parks be too crowded?

Thanks so much for any helpful advice

If you are planning 7 TS restaurants for 7 nights I'd definitely upgrade!

I wasn't going to origionally but I just figure it will be a nice break to sit down and relax. Being a single mom with three kids (although the oldest is 18) I started thinking about all the waiting in line (rides) and then again for meals. Ugh! How nice to have someone bring us our meal. :worship:

Now I just hope the servers don't rush us through :scared1:

But I hope my ADR's are a nice balance of what the kids like and what Mom will like. :hippie:

You can do the math but if you look at those menus and compare to the cost of the TS plan, you'll be ahead. The buffets you have are pricy.

I do have a problem with you eating 2x at Chef Mickey's and 1x at H&V - essentially you've scheduled 3 meals at your local Golden Coral.

Point well taken. If I got rid of one of the Chef Mickey's (either the 21 day of arrival or Christmas day and we leave MK around 5) do you have a suggestion for a replacement that would hold the attention of two very active boys, fill up an 18 year old and please Moms palate? :lmao:

The HV I did for the character meet. And I have a Sci-Fi. I just think the "playful sarcasm" of 50's will not sit well with my boys. They already listen to their Mom nag.

Oh boy this is such a puzzle! :goodvibes

I now have

Tue: The Wave for dinner
Wed: Yak and Yet for dinner
Thurs: Crystal Palace for lunch
Fri: Hollywood Vine for lunch
Xmas: Chef Mickeys for dinner (Fo'the kids!!)
Sun: between Akershus for lunch or Via Naoli for dinner (HELP)
Mon: Sci-Fi for dinner

Any thoughts?????

I've heard great things about the Wave, and hoping to eat there next fall. I'd stick with Via Napoli over Akershus with boys (unless you have a princess fanatic).

:lmao::lmao::lmao: The Golden Coral comment literally made me LOL!!! It's pretty true. The characters are worth it at Chef Mickey's, though. We're doing a late breakfast there b/c dinner there last time was not so yummy. A whole bunch of Chef Mickey's ADR's opened up today, so you might be able to snag a breakfast for 11am or so. We usually eat a small breakfast in the room, make it to rope drop, ride a couple of things and grab a fast pass or two before we head to our "lunch" (that's really breakfast food). Also, I don't think H&V has characters during lunch (they're breakfast only, I believe), so you may want to try and find something different there. I've heard the food is not worth it by itself. --Katie

No, the playhouse Disney characters are at lunch too.

good 1ts character meals we've had:

Donald's Safari Breakfast - great buffet, Mickey, Donald, Daisy

1900 Park Fare Dinner - Cindy characters including stepmother, stepsisters and Prince Charming. A much better grade of food compared to CM - I'd rate it as a pretty solid buffet

Akershaus - food was just ok - not as bad as CM or H&V - character interaction was great (5 princesses) - they all spend personal time at your table, and they throw in a free photo usually with Belle in her ball gown

I believe they just changed from Jo Jo and gang to Special Agent Oso.

You can usually meet these characters over at the Playhouse Disney area in back of the HBD anyways.

I now have

Tue: The Wave for dinner I've heard good things about this. I never seem to get it on my list though.
Wed: Yak and Yet for dinner We loved Yak and Yeti. I think it get's pretty mixed reviews though.
Thurs: Crystal Palace for lunch I have been to breakfast and lunch here and prefer breakfast. That's just me though. Lunch was solid.
Fri: Hollywood Vine for lunch Haven't been here, but the reviews make me want to stay away. :confused3 We only ever do one day at HS so we hit Sci Fi and then head back to the resort for dinner. I'm sure your boys will want to spend more time there than my little princesses do.
Xmas: Chef Mickeys for dinner (Fo'the kids!!) You're such a good mama. I hate Chef Mickey's and refuse to go back there. That being said, We've been lucky getting Tusker house ressies.
Sun: between Akershus for lunch or Via Naoli for dinner (HELP) I'd go with Via Napoli. Akershus dinner blows and your boys will have NO interest in the princesses.
Mon: Sci-Fi for dinner YUM! Love me some Sci Fi!!!!

Any thoughts?????

So there are my thoughts. I have strong opinions on Disney dining. :)

I've decided after LONG consideration to not upgrade and just stay with the free QSDP. I have made 2 ADR's that I will pay OOP and we'll just hope I find some food I can eat at the counter service places.

You see I'm a Stage IV oral cancer fighter and after chemoradiation eating is a little bit of a challenge. (no meat without sauces/gravies and no fried food.) I prefer pasta and seafood. Even salads if cut small enough.

But that has been my primary concern and why I've been obsessing. But I think I'll manage just fine. Spending the extra $$ doesn't seem "worth it".

Thanks to ALL THE REPLIES. I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!!
