About a month our from our trip (yay!) and I am reading reviews about POR Royal rooms being a little "beat up" and bugs in room...is this accurate? My friend and I do Disney Alllll day so basically just need to sleep in a room - but am considering upgrading to Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club - am I overthinking this? I stayed at POR a few years ago and remember loving it! Should I just stay put or cough up an extra $800 to upgrade?

You’re overthinking this. You already know you love it, so relax and enjoy it. :goodvibes

No bugs and I was on a ground floor room, my room was beautiful!! Definitely worth the upgrade. The lights behind the bed are magical. The rooms have a little wear and tear, kind of like Kidani rooms at AKV, but you can tell they're kept in the best shape they can be and cleaned thoroughly and very regularly. Also the perfect size for 2 people to share - you'll have plenty of room for you and all your things with just you and your friend. Have fun!!

We had a free upgrade to a Royal room in February and the room was spotless. The only thing that I didn't like is that it didn't have any USB ports or extra outlets. Bring a power strip and you will be fine. :)

Stay and keep that $800 in your pocket. It's FL, you can have bad bug luck anywhere (Swan was my turn with that and I've never heard of anyone else encountering it there before my incident or after). Beat up rooms also happen everywhere as rooms do not wear equally. If your room has unsatisfactory issues, go talk to the front desk. (Notice I said "go" not call. Calling routes you to a central call center of disappointment. Physically walk to the front desk and explain/show photos if you encounter issues that will disrupt your stay.)
