I can't find the thread now (maybe it was on another sight) but I just read about this. Someone wanted to upgrade but they were told that since the promo can't be booked anymore that there was no availability. They kept calling and finally found someone that would do it but I think that it took some kind of an override in the system. If they just look to upgrade it shows nothing is available because the promo is over but they can do it somehow - I would keep try to speak with someone in guest services that can help - I am not sure that just any CM can do it.
I just found this on another sight - hope that it helps:
"It is always going to show up on the CM computer that their is no availabilty because that package is not available. You are going to have to try to get a cast member who will work with you. The one we called, called the other hotel to see if there was any availability under this package. He pretty much had to backdoor everything. Most CM we talked to just said it was full. We explained when we looked on the website and tried to do a new reservation it showed rooms available.
Its all in who you talk to."
