Upgrade FL Silver AP to Gold AP

Looking to upgrade my current FL resident Silver AP to a FL resident Gold AP.. But have a question

If I upgrade it's a difference of $140 more between the 2 passes. Silver $419, Gold $559.

I'm assuming I would just pay the $140 difference and the monthly payment would stay the same? Or do they do it where the price is built into the monthly payments?

My info has been that you pay the difference when you upgrade leaving the payments the same.

No. I've only had my silver AP since Feb

If you upgrade in the middle of your year do you pay a prorated amount or full price? If you pay full price I would hope that the year is extended

No prorated AP adjustments at Disney.

Upgrading AP type is the full price, even if there are only a few months or weeks left on the original AP.
(And, the upgrade would expire on the same date as the original AP.)
