Upgrade discounted team tickets to DVC annual pass

We are going to WDW with my kid's sports team and they are offering the family discounted tickets. My DVC Annual Pass expired well over 30 days ago, so I was planning to get another one and activate it for this trip.

Then I got to thinking - If I buy something like a 4 day hopper, I get a decent discount. Say $60-70? If I activate it, use 3 days of it, then upgrade it to the DVC Annual Pass, do I get the credit for the price paid via the athletic travel agency or the standard 4 day hopper pass rate? Do I have to have a day left on it if I want to upgrade it, or can I use all 4 days and just make sure I upgrade within the 14 day window from initial use?

I have bought park hoppers and upgraded before, but never through a group like this. Does anyone on here know for sure? (of course you do, this is why I am posting this thread on the DIS!)

If the ticket is an event ticket with a set range of dates, then it's probably not upgradeable. You should post this on the theme park boards and Cheshire Figment will answer you.

As to upgrading tickets and getting the DVC AP discount, yes its possible but your ticket has to be upgradeable.

wanted to post an update since I was able to get in contact with the agency handling the sports event.....


If you purchase the 4 day park hopper at our discounted rate, there would be no way to upgrade them once you got to Disney. Once you were at Disney the only way to gain additional days would be to purchase a new 2 day ticket directly through Disney at their rates. Our tickets are different than the tickets you buy there because they have an expiration because they are event specific
