Anyone have any luck upgrading there annual passes bought before DVC discount to a premium annual pass. Some people said this was possible. Will we be able to do this during our summer trip?

Many people here have reported success at doing just that, and actually getting money back from Disney since the PAP with DVC discount is less than the current AP price with no discount!

We'll be doing that ourselves in a few weeks. We're going to the International Gateway at EPCOT. We've used that customer service before and it seems to be the least crowded one.
 
Yes, we just did this at the beginning of the month. DH bought 2 AP vouchers for us as a Christmas present and paid full price for them (did he not hear me when I said we'd be getting a discount as of Jan 2nd? That's another thread though...). At the AK Guest Services we explained that we'd like to upgrade the AP vouchers for PAPs and after 15 minutes or so it was done. It was the CM's first upgrade, and it took him a bit to figure out how to do it in the computer (at one point he had us getting a $700 refund, lol!) but we ended up getting $5 back per ticket. We just had to have the receipt for the APs and our DVC card.
 
We're planning to do this next Sunday. We have regular AP's that we have made 3 trips on so far (purchased last July). We're new DVC members (just got our membership cards earlier this week) & we are going to try to do the upgrade to the DVC-discounted PAP's. DisneyQuest & Blizzard Beach here we come!

Any advice on which Guest Services location will make this an easy process would be greatly appreciated!
 

As the other poster said, International Gateway is a great spot to do your ticket business,thats where we always do ours. Never busy,and they seem to know what they are doing.
 
I was at Disney last week, was going to ask to upgrade....I went to the MGM GS window, and when I explained our situation (DVC members, activated our full price passes last November) before I could ask for an upgrade, the CM re-issued our passes and gave us $100/pass refund (which to me was better than an upgrade!!).
 
We (my DW and I) upgraded our annual passes purchased in December to PAP's a week ago at the MK Guest Relations with no problem and received $10.50 total back for the two passes. The expiration dates stayed the same as expected. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of any of the premium features on this trip because of all the activities in the main theme parks, but there is alway our next trip in December before they expire! :goodvibes
