Anyone know the trend for household metal accessories these days?
During Covid we swapped out all the sinks, doorknobs & deadbolts to brushed nickel, we also matched the bathroom wall plates.
Now my attention is on the other bits of metal in the house & it seems like a fairly inexpensive update as long as I don't get it wrong.
At first, I was thinking stick with the silver shades but then we do have some wood floors so I was thinking maybe the dark brown bronze might still look better, or is it still dated and should I go with black, which is a trend with window outlines here and there?

Personally do not like shades. We took ours down years ago and have not replaced them.

Do whatever you like. It's your house and you are the one living in it. Screw the trends. As long as you aren't doing something that would be hard to undo if you decided to sell the house, go for whatever suits you.

Brushed nickel looks good on hardwood floors. I wouldn't go too crazy mixing up colors and styles unless it's what you like. In fact, all of those things you're talking about are really inexpensive changes. Go with your likes. If down the road you want to sell, the trends will probably have changed anyway so at that point you should take your realtors suggestions.
