DD called today - she's still having a stupendous time!!
regarding last minute reservations during free dining: she again was able to make a few last minute reservations (same day, next day).....
but not for any of the character meals....but she didn't have any problem for other restaurants as long as she was flexible with her times....
as for where she's eaten thus far (keep in mind she's a fish eating vegetarian and her friend's a real vegetarian - so neither of them eats meat):
Yak & Yeti - lunch yesterday - they really enjoyed it...she said the place is beautiful and the fish was very good...
Raglan Road - dinner yesterday - it was fine, but she didn't rave about it (as i've heard other people raving about it)...but i think the problem was they didn't like the vegetarian option
Crystal Palace - dinner - she loved it....said the food was great...the buffet had lots of great choices for vegetarians....and they had lots of interaction with the characters...
Chef Mickeys - dinner - they loved it here too....another great buffet with lots of choices for vegetarians and great interaction with the characters...
Whispering Canyon Cafe - DD said the food was terrible - way too spicy and she was sick for a day after eating there...(upset stomach - montezuma's revenge sort of thing)..
Tokyo Dining - DD and I ate at tokyo dining in november and very much enjoyed it, but we weren't on the dining plan then....this time DD is on the free dining plan and she said Tokyo dining was a problem for vegetarians eating on the dining plan....very little food at TD is truly vegetarian and if you're on the plan it becomes extremely difficult..
however, having said that, she said the manager was absolutely outstanding...he worked very closely with them and did all sorts of tricks with the system in order to get them a proper meal even on the dining plan (and that was vegetarian)...DD was so impressed by him that she went to guest services and wrote him up...
Coral Reef - lunch - DD loved it!!!...she said the food and service were outstanding (and they were seated right next to the aquarium)...
Sci Fi- DD's friend actually liked the food
confused3 ), DD couldn't stand the food (too spicy for her), but she wasn't expecting anything...she took her friend there for the experience (we've never liked the sci fi).
50's prime time - DD said the food was surprisingly good and they had a very interactive server so they had a great time...also she had her traditional chocolate milkshake (as dessert) and her friend LOVED the brownie dessert..
she still has Chefs de France, Spoodles, and Boma to go (plus a second time at CP and CM)..
for vegetarians, the best bet are the buffets at CP, CM, 1900 Park Fare and Bomas.....everywhere else there's only one choice (if that).....
i forgot to mention - DD has been using her snack credit for breakfast at the pop century...
a box of cereal and a carton of milk together make one snack credit....
so that's what she's been using her snack credit for each day - a box of cereal and carton of milk....that's all she ever has for breakfast, so it's perfect for her....
