Updates for Opening

Some new updates coming out today right now. It is in the Rumors board, but officially from Disney, Here is some.....I will update as its shared

Storm Along Bay will not be reopening at the start

Having a hotel reservation will not guarantee you access to the park each day of your trip.

DME will be up and running when resorts open.

No club level being offered to start.

I think it is updated on the website now. But, it does NOT list Jambo House as opening.

So, not sure what that means

But, it does say feature pools could be open with reduced hours. So, that seems to be a change from initial plan.

ETA: it looks like we Should see all pools at the resorts open with limitations, except SAB...people at BCV will have to use pool there.

So I’m in a pickle. We were given points by MIL but had to be concierge collection so we chose BW club level.
So it doesn’t look like the hotel portion of the hotel is open, I can’t get threw to member services and we can’t move the points to a regular dvc reservation I guess. Ugh.

Yeah...that is a tough one because you won’t be able to reserve until they open up for bookings.

Luckily the trip isn't until 8/28 so there’s plenty of time for things to change that’s for sure. Oh, and the constant busy signal at member services is quite annoying lol

I wonder what that means for people booked on points at Jambo? I hope they would be moved . I know we don’t know how long it could be closed but we are booked there thanksgiving week and there is literally no where to change to.

That is not the Concierge Collection. That is the Disney Collection. And those points are no longer usable for a DVC reservation because they have been converted to reservation points.

They will probably find space for them in Kidani Village for the same number of points (except for Concierge Villas).

Nope, points have no cash value. That's part of the reason why members are not supposed to transfer points for cash.

This may mean the Park's reservation has hit the maximum number of people allowed

This sounds like when parks are at their maximum on busy days, they have phased closures. I am only guessing.

I am guessing that those with value Jambo reservations are going to get an upgrade to a Kidani standard or maybe even SV

Nope, points have no cash value. That's part of the reason why members are not supposed to transfer points for cash.

Well I guess we will see what Disney does. I’d doubt they just say tough luck and we have no options.

No SAB is honestly a deal breaker. We are scheduled to arrive 7/31. We need to book airfare etc and it would be extremely helpful to find out for sure what will be open and what will not be.

I hope they will find space. I just worry about weeks like thanksgiving if the Jambo closure continues for too long. When everything is booked I don’t know how they will be able to come up with something for everyone who booked Jambo.

The link on the Disney sites should be updated. It includes all the resorts and then tells exactly what is opening now, It does not say when more will open.

It sounds like that having the hotel reservation will not mean you are guaranteed to get a park reservation.

Basically, people should not assume that because you are booked that getting in to the park is a given right now.

Honestly, I think Jambo will open with the hotel. Since Jambo is part of a larger resort, it makes sense not to open until they are ready to open up the deluxe.

IMO, by Thanksgiving I am sure it will be open.

Anyone have a guess on the reasoning behind not opening SAB? Other water parks in Florida are opening so not a restriction from that aspect.

Beach club and yacht club are not opening yet. When those open, SAB will likely open. BCV does at least have its own pool, unfortunately not a feature one though...
