I've been monitoring the resale market lately. I noticed over the weekend that the Timeshare Store listings are messed up. They are showing a list of resales that looked current back in early April. All of the May listings dissappeared. Anyone else notice this or have a clue what may have happened???

POOF!! It's all fixed now. :D

I peeked at their website earlier today, and I was happy that the awful flag riding up and down on the right was gone, that is the blue flag that gave telephone numbers. I guess there's a glitch.

I happened to talk to them this morning - there was a website "update" this weekend. Folks there were not happy for, as you noted, many long-since closed sales re-appeared.

Maybe that would explain why no one has gotten back to me about listings that I have been emailing about for the last week or so. I was beginning to think maybe they weren't such a good idea. I have been a little hesitant to checking into some listings and taking the plunge, then when companies don't respond to the numerous emails you send, you get a little worried. Are they a good company to go with? Any info on buying resale from them would be great.

We used them last month. No problems. Everything went smoothly and I think we got a good deal at VWL.

If you're truly interested in "taking the plunge", I'd suggest contacting the broker by phone. Another reason to call is that you can tell them what your needs are --points, resort, use year. They will watch for the perfect listing to come in and then contact you. This is much easier than trolling through the Web sites, particularly since many of the best listings get snapped up without ever being listed on the Web sites.

I can't speak of The Timeshare Store but can highly recommend either Shontell at www.dvcbyresale.com or Jaki at www.atimeshare.com. Shontell sends out e-mails whenever she has new properties available -- just give her a call. We purchased our first contract through Shontell; the entire transaction couldn't have gone more smoothly. I just contacted Jaki this past Friday morning to see what she might have available for BWV, February use year. Turns out she had just gotten a listing in for 275 points at BWV, Feb use year -- exactly what we were looking for! Now, 3 days later, she has all our paperwork submitted to Disney for ROFR (right of first refusal).

So, it definitely pays to call!!

Good luck -- here's hoping you find the perfect deal for you!
