Team #7 Yet-to-be-named will be giving everyone a "run" for your investmenst!

Question for the teams/and organizer Dave:
I know that there will be folks/teams wanting to join in later. Is there a way to allow them to join and just play along? Maybe if we keep monthly totals for all teams since we will really all be doing that anyway late-comers can play too?

That way we could get those missing all the fun involved when they figure how much fun they are missing. As long as each team is keeping their own records it may work do you think?

The end of year prizes could still be awarded as originally planned.

Do you think this would be too much of a problem?

BTW I'll sticky the list somehow. I'm trying to clean up the FAQs and maybe combine some things. I don't know if keeping a long list of stickies is a good thing. Contemplating how to best approach this.

This could be done if new people joined teams at the beginning of a new month. Team captains could take the miles and hours for the month, and divide it by number of members for that month. This would give you an average number of miles per member, or hours per member. At the end of the year, each captain could summarize their average miles, or average hours, for a year end total. This way, if one team had more members than another, the scoring would "even the sides".

Just throwing 2 cents out on the table after reading Lilly's post.
 

I think there is a strong need for a "substitute team"

I may be prejudice, as I am a permanant substitute teacher - but I really feel that substitutes are a strong link in the chain of TEAM!!!

so if someone goes down with the flu - substitute

someone goes on vacation - substitute -

and I'm pretty sure MIGHTY PANDA has a strong plan for a group that will wrack up miles on the side ready to go!!! :worship:
 
I'd be more than happy to be a co-captain if our team needs one (Team 2.) I haven't seen us come up with a team name yet though. Another thought for a team name I had was the People Movers. After one of my favorite rides of course.

Sandy321 - I met you on the bus on the way to the 1/2 and knew you
were wonderful! Substitute teachers are the BEST!!!!! You get thrown in
to any grade, have to do any subject, well that should be worth extra miles
in my book.... Geeesh, here I go cheering on the other team.

Ok updated to here. Thanks for being a Captain Craig, you already have a team forming.

Lily once team 8 is full we will go to a sub, replacement pool. Subs will take over when someone is injured and will not be able to train for a while. We will go by first signed up first placed for replacing anyone who is dropping out.

In addition the sub/replacement pool can keep a running total and log their miles/hours just like the teams, when they go on a team as a sub or replacement they will just begin posting in that person's place that they are replacing.

Stacey yes any miles under your own power.

Of course swimming counts hours and miles.

Team Hakuna Matata, we need a picture to post on our signatures. How about a Lion King Theme, not the darn pig though, we don't want to go there.

Denny, I switched my major from Elec Engineering to Social Phy after my first trig class, so I would never get that right, thanks for the suggestion though.

I posted this previously on the old thread, but I'll repost here to make it official: I'm good with any of the above. I do, however, have one request --can we make sure it's Donald's Defiant Dashers and not just Donald's Dashers? Otherwise, we get downgraded to a double D (still well beyond anything I will ever attain!), and I 'd rather have that extra D, thankyouverymuch!

Oh, and Liz, I love love love love love all the artwork you did! very impressive :worship:
