Updated 'Ohana Menu

OK I am about to call and see if I can change from Tony's to Ohana...but considering our trip is in about 6 weeks I am not sure how this will work out!

That sounds really good.. I'm glad the peel-and-eat shrimp and sausage were gone. I didn't like them that much.

Are the barbecued shrimp any better?

I could definately deal with this. I was so worried that the menu was going to change in a much more drastic way. I agree with the OP, I am glad that the peel and eat shrimp are off the menu. And personally I didn't care for the fried wontons, so I am not too sorry to see that go.
Ohana's dinner is definately on my itnerary again. Can't wait to hear how the dumplings taste, and better yet I can't wait until I get to taste them for myself.

And a little off topic but, is it me or does it look like their prices have gone down.

Whew...as soon as I saw a menu change I was worried. But, I'm super happy that they still have the potatoes & bread pudding...my fav :)

We will probably eat there more then once during our trip this fall since it is DH 7 my favorite.

Wow, you husband is 7 years old? :lmao:

Sounds terrific! We go to Ohana's almost every trip, but were never thrilled with the fried wontony things and the sausage, so I'm glad they are gone. Pork dumplings and shrimp skewers sound like great replacements!

Now I am super excited to try this place in April! Pork dumplings instead of peel shrimp, bbq shrimp instead of sausage and yummy bread instead of won ton chips sounds like a nice change! :thumbsup2

Umm...sorry to break it to you guys, but the shrimp on the skewers also have the shell on them and will also need to be peeled! It was that way before and so it shall be again!

I may have to go here again to try the new menu. Which means I'll have to give up either Boatwrights, Olivias, Hollywood and Vine, or Kona.

This sounds great to me!! I was "planning" on Ohana for our May 2009 trip, but wasn't so sure based on recent reports. I like the sound of this menu though, it's definitely back on for our plans!

I seem to remember them serving pork dumplings years ago on their pu-pu platter. I am so glad that they have returned.

I'm not crazy about the bread pudding. A little too heavy for me. I'm hoping I can request pineapple for dessert.

Interesting. I just ate at O'Hana last week. Our waiter told us the potatoes would be gone from the menu in two weeks. I'm so glad he was wrong! They're my favorite part of the meal. We did have the bread last week. Its very similar (if not the same) to the bread they used to serve in previous years. Very good sweet bread. I do miss the wonton chips. I loved dipping them in the sauces.

Isnt' the bread a sweet pineapple bread? Or am I confusing it with something else?
