I really wanted to write a trip report, I really, really did. However, I started and thought that it was majorly boring, had way to much background info, and generally just stunk. So....I know how I always enjoy the trip reports with pictures so that is what I will share and tell a few little stories here and there enjoy...:surfweb:

By the way, I used a Canon S3 for almost all of the pics taken, except the waterpark ones I will post.

Trip: March 13-18, 2007

EDIT: I just realized I haven't told any of you my name yet. I am Jessica, 25, married, no kids (except my dogs). Sorry about the omission, you were probably wondering who is this nameless person in the trip report? LOL...

Me getting ready to leave for the airport. I was flying down alone and staying with my friend and former College Program roomate Heather, who had recently moved to the Orlando area.

86553My_plane.jpg

Flight was delayed due to a hydraulic fluid leak...they had to bring us a new one from Baltimore. Here she is..

86553rental_car.jpg

Finally landed in Orlando almost 4 hours behind schedule. Had planned to go to DD, but instead picked up my crazy rental car (Saturn Ion) and drove to Heather's. This was a strange little car, drove well, but all the controls and gauges were in weird positions.

I spent the night catching up with Heather and another former roomate who lives down there, Becky. Finally we went to bed. Heather was working the next morning and I was off to Animal Kingdom!

I got up early the next morning and meant to catch the opening at Ak. I didn't make it but I wasn't far behind.

I parked in...

I love the feeling you get when you approach the park entrance.

I booked it over to EE, and the line was extended all the way out to where the new Yak and Yeti restaurant is supposed to be.

People were saying that the FASTPASS line was AN HOUR LONG! I couldn't take that and figured I would try again later. I decided to head to the Safari. On the way, I snapped these pics...

The Safari standby time was 20 minutes so I hopped in and before long we were loading!
86553safari1.jpg

The safari pics are gonna get their own post they are so many!

Ahh...the Safari. Does anyone love this ride as much as me? I love animals so AK is my runs a close second to my favorite park (which is MK of course). I know the storyline is a little weird and tired, but just ignore that part and look at the pretty animals! I got some great shots of the giraffes and those big scary buffalo things...

86553safari2.jpg

Upside down tree. I love these! I want one for my yard.

86553safari3.jpg

The jeep in front of us.

86553safari5.jpg

These guys were being lazy...

86553safari6.jpg

Okay, so they don't look like Buffalo. What are these?

86553safari10.jpg

The giraffes were very active this morning and there seemed to be a lot of them!

86553safari7.jpg

86553safari9.jpg

86553safari8.jpg

The elephants were being antisocial. They wouldn't turn around so I could get a good pic. So enjoy this one of elephant behind!

86553safari13.jpg

86553safari12.jpg

And now zebra behind!

86553safari11.jpg

Ostrich eggs!

By the way....here are my two babies that I left behind.

Adorable right? I missed them so bad this trip.

After the safari, I wanted to see more animals, so I decided to walk the Pangani Forest Trail which I had never done before.

86553ak3.jpg

I couldn't get a good shot of the monkeys at the beginning. The park was starting to get crowded and I had trouble getting up to the cage. You can kind of see them in this picture.

The next exhibit was the

He saw me coming and decided to hightail it out of there!
86553ak5.jpg

Next up, the Naked Mole Rat room! I had a Hidden Mickey book with me and found this guy hanging in the corner of the room.
86553ak7.jpg

Naked Mole Rats! Eek!
86553ak8.jpg

Here are some creepy looking birds in the aviary.
86553ak9.jpg

Have you ever noticed these things hanging in the pavilion with the deer?
86553ak13.jpg

Gorillas! These guys were just chillin. This one looked so sad by himself. He needs a girlfriend or maybe this was a girl?
86553ak14.jpg

And this guy was playing hide and seek in the bushes.

<<Okay, so they don't look like Buffalo. What are these?>>

Those animals are wildebeests.

Awesome photos!! Keep up the great work. I love looking at Disney World photos.

I am loving your trip report. I am from AL too and was at Disney the 9-15th.
Your pics are beautiful by they way. Can't wait to hear more and see more pics :D

Sorry guys! It took me longer today than I thought to upload more photos. Okay here we go....

After leaving the Pangini Forest Trail I checked EE again. The line was still 60 minutes and no single rider line at that time. EDIT: I should mention here that all the fastpasses were GONE. Forget it. I was getting hungry so I decided to try Flame Tree BBQ. I go the chicken wing kids meal, which was surprisingly filling.

86553ak16.jpg

After eating and feeding the birds...I started to hear some catchy music behind me. Upon further investigation I discoverd the Village Beatniks.

86553ak19.jpg

Check out a video I took of them with my S3. They were good! The kids really loved it.

I realized that the new Finding Nemo Musical was about to begin so I headed over to the Theatre in the Wild to catch that. I really wanted to watch the Beatniks some more, but I figured I better get to the show early. And boy was I glad I did....there was a huge line!

86553nemo.jpg

I cannot say enough about this show. Beautiful puppets, singing, technology, the seats were even comfortable! I loved it! I can't wait to see it again.

I got a fastpass for Kali River Rapids and decided to try EE again. The standby line was still really long but they did have a single rider line. It still took aout 30 minutes but I finally rode it! It wasn't my first time, but it was a great ride! I don't have any pictures, I was going to try to take some while we were riding but I chickened out. :scared1:

Headed to Kali next. Luckily I hardly got wet!

86553kali.jpg

I was excited to see some more animals so I walked the Mahrajah Jungle Trek.

86553trek.jpg

This was my first time doing this trail as well. In the past when I visited I was more worried about going on all the rides. This time I kind of took it easy and walked all the trails to see the animals.

I thought this sign was cute. Why? I don't know, it struck me as funny at the time.
86553bats.jpg

These....not so cute.
86553bats1.jpg

86553trek2.jpg

How you doin?

86553trek1.jpg

The tigers get their own post!

Finally....the tigers. I got some great shots of these beautiful creatures.

86553tigers6.jpg

86553tigers5.jpg

86553tigers4.jpg

I love this one...
86553tigers3.jpg

86553tigers2.jpg

86553tigers1.jpg

It was getting kind of hot, so they weren't doing much, but I could have stayed there all day and watched them.

I thought this area was pretty, but I didn't see any animals.

86553trek3.jpg

Next, I decided to head over the Camp Minnie/Mickey for some character love!
