Updated list of Refurbs for 2014

100% agree! Now that I have worked through my many emotional stages, I am just glad to be going. Rather be at Disney for spring break instead of sitting at home any day.

Right on man! :) And I am unanimous in that. ;)

This, look at the dates. People have also been crying about Splash's animitronics not working, so why not knock it down during slow season. Pirates my guess is due to the construction being done on the exit of the ride, they need the ride shut down to finish it, again during the real only slow season for the park makes sense.

Space Mountain I suspect is probably due to the OSHA shutdown last year to finish that off. The exterior has been looking pretty dirty since cleaners have not been able to work on it when I was at the parks a couple weeks ago. Indy sadly has been up and down like a yo yo since it's last major refurb, probably needs more work. Would rather it be down another 6 weeks and be good to go then play the is it or is it not up game.

Really? I've been a Disney fan all my life and been going constantly the last 4 years and never seen a discounted ticket during the slow season except for US Military which is year round.

They used to have discount tickets every Jan. and Feb. They were socal discounts for people in the 92 zip codes. I miss those.

That's probably why I never heard of them. I knew they used to do special tickets for locals to get them in but lately all I hear is that there are too many locals now at the parks :)

I think the OP was trying to be helpful and qualified how she came up with this list. I think her method was creative but not official and may turn out to be inaccurate in some cases.

I would caution everyone here to wait until something more official comes out before changing trip dates or canceling trips or just basically freaking out.

:wizard:

Ya, cause I kinda AM freaking out!

WOW....I did not mean to cause such a rucus :( Like I said I got these on the Disneyland website. Clicking on each ride on their maps. But like I also said...THINGS CHANGE,,,and nothing is ever written in stone. The only true way to know is to be there and see what happens. I am sorry if I caused stress and panic, that was not my intention. I just found information on the website (which takes forever to go through ride for ride) and wanted to share what I read. In No WAY was I stating I was the be all end all when it came to knowledge about closures:confused3

Don't worry about it. You did a good job of obtaining and compiling information that at the time was accurate and current. And may still very well be. In due time, one will know for certain what will be open or not.

Yea, no worries! I think as much knowledge in advance as possible is a great thing! You didn't do anything wrong. Thank you for helping to keep us all updated. :thumbsup2

I noticed that Aladdin has been added to the refurb list for most of Jan/Feb. Pretty bummed. One of our favorites.

Anybody familiar with Touring Plans know when they will update these closures on their site? Alice still showing as closed 1/17 and I want to add it to my plan. To OP, thank you for the great info!

Heading to DL during spring break. So sad to see so many of these rides on the closure list. :(

They are not on the "closure list"! Some are. Some are not. The list by the OP is not official in any sense. The OP was trying to be helpful but realize the OP's list is not official.

:wizard:

Not official necessarily, the OP's list be, but with that said, it is based upon the information listed on the Disneyland website at the time. I figure between now and next April, there will be a number of date changes etc. for the currently listed refurbishments.

Yes, but the information obtained by the OP is inconsistent with other info put out by Disney. So it would make sense at this point to rely on the more official info.

I just wish all of the information from Disney would match!

The park hours calendar on the official Disneyland website isn't showing the GRR or Alice refurbs on any of the January or early Feb. dates. Everything else listed here and on the park hours calendar matches up, but for my family, those two discrepancies are driving me crazy.

As someone who is planning a two trips in January, I'd just like to have accurate information. With any luck, something will get updated one way or another after New Years Day!

Yikes! Just looked at the update and may decide against inviting my nephew and his wife down for a weekend in March. No SM, no Indy, no Soarin'. :(

Ugh...Indy is still listed as being down March 03 to April 25. I am hoping its refurbishment dates will change to an earlier or later time.

We are taking the kids the first week of March and can't believe that Both SM and Indiana jones will be closed. Plane tickets have been bought as well as accommodations or I would have definatley postponed our trip. My 7 year old will be crushed not to ride INdiana Jones with me as he was 1/2 inch too short 2 years ago and has been waiting ever since. And SM is his favorite ride. Yes it is still Disneyland and lots of things to see and do but it's a very expensive trip for most families not to be able to go on so many of their favorite rides. We always get a five day pass but may look into cutting it short and adding more days in palm springs. Disneyland should be offering discount passes seeing that so many of the most popular rides will be closed during spring break. You think they could have waited until after Easter and before summer for the closures. Extremely poor planning on their part.
What a total bummer to discover!

Interesting...I see differences between what's posted on the CM Hub and here. This list even differs from the park hour calendar. I don't see Grizzly or Alice as closed during our dates.
