Is it just me, or does it seem like we're seeing a lot less HOJO Entertainment Rate availability this year? Hopefully it's just me . . . ;)

bummer. Just when I was thinking of taking advantage of the October Entertainment Rates, they take them away.:surfweb:

I am hoping for some later June dates. I wish I could see last year's dates and when they were released. Just 1 out of my 4 days would take the sting out of the price I have my dates at now.

Yes they have reduced the availability of this offer a lot.

See my answer above.

1 of 4 days? It would help but you can get a better deal elsewhere. 50% off 1 of 4 days = 12.5% dicount. Many places offer get 3rd or 4 night free. Even Disney has a current offer to do that. 3rd or 4th free means 33% of 25% off. Some places regularily have 20% or 30% off. Just look harder to find a better deal elsewhere.

Yes, it definitely seems like there are less rooms at that awesome rate. I'm hoping for early June too, just need a few days but not paying full rate for it....lol I'm so cheap! ;)

Well, we (DH, DS 12, DD 10, DS 4) didn't plan this out months ahead like we should have. We live about 5.5 hours from DL. Stayed at the Fairfield in '08 and got an excellent price match deal from Orbitz I think. They don't do it anymore. Fast forward to '10 and we decide in early November to do DL from 12/26 to New Years (what great memories ringing in the New Year). We just went with Getawaytoday's recommendation and stayed at the Anaheim Holiday Inn Resort. The shuttle wait and ride was torture and we decided we like staying within a 15 minute walk for next trip. We also decided to upgrade our hoppers to APs on 1/1/11 and come back at least one more time in the summer and try for an October weekend. We had to wait until about March and April to see how everyones schedule was falling into place to see what dates would work for summer. At the end of April we had a lot of local friends going for our Spring Break (which was later that socal's dates). Since we were going in the summer and DH couldn't go with us on Spring Break, I did Lastminutetravel for the Castle Inn and Suites and went the super cheap route with just me and the kids. For June I have a reservation at Ramada Plaza with two queens and sofa bed, free parking, free internet, fridge, microwave and includes breakfast. But since this will be our last summer trip for two years probably, I really wanted the kids to have fun in the HOJO water area during our breaks from DL - we've never been - it's all about the cool swimming area. So a couple weeks ago I was able to find a room at HOJO (two doubles) with 20% off AP discount for my dates (105-120 per tax per night). It's smaller, no breakfast, no micro, 5 minutes closer, but $40 less total for the four days than Ramada. We're brining 2 air mattresses in case we need to spread out at night. I think the kids will be very happy. But nothing is set in stone (as I have not told them of our plans yet... they know we are going, just not where we are staying.) At this point everything is still flexible, and I change my mind often... so we'll see.

I looked at the June 2011 check in thread and nobody is staying at HOJO after 6/10 which leaves me to believe that there were no retro rates ever available for this year.

I did find this historical HOJO discount rate thread!

I'm staying at Hojo and have been looking at the calendar for June dates since LAST June. The only June dates I've seen come up are the 1st and 30th. I was able to snag the 1st, but I'm really hoping they release a few more of my days! It would really help our budget out! (Though as soon as it was announced that ST and LM would be opening on the 3rd, I pretty much lost hope that there would be any discounts around my days! A girl can dream though, right?!)

There have been summer dates at Hojo in the past few years, but they often don't show up that far in advance. These rates seem partly to be offered based on projected occupancy. With the combination of prices continuing to rise for everything everywhere and people starting to travel more again despite things being more expensive, we may not see hotel prices as good as the last few years. It certainly doesn't hurt to keep watching for a good rate, but if I was set on particular dates and willing to pay the 20% off AP rate (which I have happily done in the past), then I would lock in my dates and just consider it icing on the cake if I can get the rate lowered later. For what it's worth, we got the entertainment rate for some of our dates in June 2009, August 2009, and July 2010.

last I checked there were only a couple of days left available in Oct, they had taken most of the days out a while back - busy, busy!

I am not the authority of how many dates have been released in the past, but can speak of my experience when booking recently. Also, I have stayed at HOJO's in the past using the retro rate (Thanks Disboard!) so I am familiar with that at least.

I don't believe they took away the October dates, because I was able to book using the retro rate during October dates originally shown. I believe there are no more rooms offered at the rate anymore because so many people have booked using that rate. As it is, when I booked for my October visit last Saturday, they only had premium rooms/Disney viewing left. (I had to jump and get my room reservered as soon as I learned the dates of the Mickey's Halloween party.) In any offer, there will be a limit to how many discounts can be released. It is my understanding, they are pretty booked in Sept/Oct because of summer vacations in other countries (New Zealand etc.). With the wonders of the internet, I am sure we aren't the only ones who are aware of the discount! :rotfl2:

I will be taking a trip in June, arriving on the 12th, and staying at HOJO's. I had to call three times before a room with two queen beds was even available. Thankfully, we are getting an AP, so we are getting that discount, which in the end is far more cheaper than the rate I was getting at BWPPI or PV-even considering that BWPPI and PV offer free breakfast.

Personally, I don't expect seeing the great deals I have seen in the past. Disney onsite hotels don't offer as many deep discounts as they used to either. Also, keep in mind, other cheap hotels may not be raising their room rates, but they are charging fees. It just comes down to shopping around and finding a place that best meets your needs. I still like HOJO's rates. I have young children who like continuity so returning back to the same hotel is a positive for me. If the rates are too high, then my family doesn't need to take that vacation! :rotfl2:

I highly doubt we will see any dates for June. It will be busy and I know the hotel is nearly at capacity, at least for late June. I don't think they are having trouble filling the hotel right now.

See Hojo entertainment dates - Historical availability.

They used to make a lot more dates available.

That's always true at HoJo's - if you book the retro rate, you've definitely got it, even if they remove it later from their listing. I think when people say "they took away the dates", they mean exactly this; that they took it away for new bookings, not for people that have already booked it.

We stay there every year the week after Father's day. The dates are usually released closer to our stay and out of our 7-8 day trip I usually get 2-3 days at the Retro rate. Last year they opened up 1 day DURING our trip. I called and they adjusted the price while we were there. I agree that they are limiting the days of the discounts, but also they seem to be filling up alot sooner than normal.
