UPDATED!!! Gmax THRILLING September Adventure! Featuring LOTS of DISers!

First of all: I am SO proud of you for doing RnR!!!! Having witnessed the ToT struggle of 2007, this is huge! :) I've still yet to ride it as it was under refurb while we were there.

You will absolutely know when the next trip is planned. It's hopefully going to be December of 2009. Hopefully.

I'm glad you loved the halloween parade - it's seriously one of the best parades I've ever seen. Our MNSSHP was mostly rained out and it was STILL worth every penny of the admission price. Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures from that night - and I'm loving the glittery mickey-head headbands! Too cute!

You were at POP ???? and you did not call me ??? I could have shown you my fave bldg... overlooking the Lake... great sunrise... great sun set.. great fireworks from Epcot.. But nooooooooooooo :snooty: you decided not to tell me... hmmm but then if this time frame was from between 2P and 7P .. well you would have not gotten me anyways.. :lmao: that is my nap time.. were the do NUT disturb sign is at the door and phone ringer were turn off... so ok.. fine .. fine... I still love your mom :p:flower3:

Slow down girl! You are the fastest TR writer ever! ;)

Love all the DIS meets, isnt it the best when you fall into step like old friends with people from the DIS! Love it!

Congrats for going on RnR...I was scared the first time and kept my eyes closed most of the time...and I was so nervous I can't remember if there was music LOL.

The wave looks pretty spiffy and the food looks decent...I'll have to add it to my list.

Oh and what did your mom have at Pop? I am in LOVE with the asian chicken salad there!!!!

so glad to catch another report and good for you for conquering RNR!

looking forward to the rest of the party - we leave on Saturday and I am so excited to go to the party!

Glenda, to be mentioned by you is so awesome! I love your trip reports, as do your many other fans. I can't wait to spot you at the World someday, and to show up in one of the pictures in your famous TRs!

ahhhhhhhhhhhh huh !!!!!!!!1 so you are the "confusing factor" :lmao: you are lucky I wuv yah !!! I will let this one slide !!!:cool2:
I know, I know...:headache: I still can't believe that! :sad2:

Glenda...first you conquered EE now RnR!!!!! What great accomplishments on this trip! :woohoo: Good to hear that you enjoyed the Wave. We have an ADR in December. I think POP is a fun place. Loved your head gear at Halloween party! cliffhanger......:hyper:

great update and pics.

that is nice you got to POP.

8pm for the party. :scared1: what were you thinking?

For P&PP we were there at 4pm when they let you in. Always CS for dinner on the night of the parties.

Hey, girl! Awesome TR :woohoo: It was a wonderful trip, and I'm so glad to have met you, your mom, and many other wonderful DISers. I hate that I missed meeting so many of you, tho' :sad2: Maybe next time. I don't know why my schedule was so different from everyone else's -- am I the only one who uses touringplans.com and TGM to schedule days :confused3

Thanks for all the great pictures and the nice comments about my little schedule flip-file. It worked out really great, and I may scan and post it. I've used about four different systems, and I think I'm going to stick with this one!

I'm going back with fellow DISer redbudlover in December and have a family trip in May (VWL), then next fall again with two of my first cousins (BCV). Isn't DVC amazing????? :yay:

aubriee, regardless of what you say, you talk faster than any southerner I've ever met!!! :lmao: I'd love it if you could post some of your pictures from our MK morning.

I was really tired when I got home, but at least I didn't get sick this time. After I got home from a 10-day stay in May, I came down with bronchitis and was sick for three weeks  I started feeling bad again a couple of days after I got home this time, but I think it's just allergies. I seem to be okay now (knock on wood).

Your mom is such a sweet lady! I know we'd really enjoy each other. I'd love to meet up again sometime!

Day 4 - Halloween Party (part 2)

When I left off in the last installment, my Mother and I were standing near Liberty Square waiting for the parade to start. Cast Members were selling balloons, glow stuff and entertaining the crowd.

IMG_3058.jpg

Soon, the Headless Horseman came riding through! I tried getting a pic and missed, but was able to get him on video!

Well, seeing him REALLY got me excited! Maybe this won't be the kiddie-fest, WHILEST I stand on my feet, that I thought it would be!!!!

Soon the parade began, with the first float!

IMG_3063.jpg

I thought it was cute, and had an "OH!" moment! I finally understood the "Boo To You" Siggie Pumpkins that are passed around on the DIS! Then of course the song began, "Boo to you, and Trick or treat . . ." OH!

At this point the characters in costumes start to come down the route, and believe me, I only started taking pics for THIS report. I felt like a teenage girl at the mall with her parents - just thinking "wuteva".

IMG_3068.jpg

IMG_3069.jpg

But as you all know, Disney gets even cynicle people like to smile. Because here's comes Peter Pan and Wendy. Yes, when I was little (and even now) I wanted to fly like Peter Pan!

IMG_3073.jpg

IMG_3074.jpg

And you can't have Peter without Hook!

IMG_3076.jpg

IMG_3077.jpg

Even though I'm not Pirates, nor Johnny Deep fan (deal with it!), I was excited about this float!

IMG_3078.jpg

IMG_3081.jpg

IMG_3080.jpg

My FAVORITE part of the parade were the characters from the Haunted Mansion. Of course, the pics did NOT come out well, so I mostly have VIDEO! UGHHHHH! The grave diggers were AWESOME! Very MANLY and Spooky!

Here's ONE pic of the guy who works in the graveyard.
IMG_3082.jpg

After the Haunted Mansion came some cowboys hopping around. But! I spotted a Black cowgirl in the bunch! I guess I must've looked sooo excited to her, cause when she spotted me, she nearly laughed! She smiled at me the whole time she was near us! I almost waved!

IMG_3084.jpg

My second favorite were the villians. Ladies, the witch from Snow White's makeup was FLAWLESS! I wanted to jump the rope and grab her by the shoulders. PLUS their moves to the "BOO to You" had attitude and like they were about to start CLUBBING right there in the parade! Loved them!

Soon the parade was over. It ended with Goofy's Candy.

IMG_3087.jpg

IMG_3089.jpg

Needless to say, I was REALLY pumped after the parade! It was so good! We then headed over to the Haunted Mansion, which had fog rolling over the grounds. Sorry folks, I could not get my pics to come out well. I ended up deleting them right after I took them. I did manage to get a shot of the Bride of the the mansion who killed her husband. She was sitting outside the mansion greeting all of her guests . . .

IMG_3090.jpg

IMG_3091.jpg

We then rode Thunder Mountain (fab at night!), and Pirates. I heard that the Jungle Cruise was fun at night, but once again, it was closed. So we headed to Main Street to see "Hallow Wishes". Fortunantly, it wasnt crowded, so it was easy to find a spot on the curb. Then who did we see? Are those cavemen? Is that Aubriee and her crew???

IMG_3094.jpg

IMG_3093.jpg

IMG_3095.jpg

Since we had space by us, we all watched the fireworks together. They were really good! But I liked the Christmas fireworks better.

IMG_3096.jpg

I THINK after the fireworks we rode a few things in Tomorrow and Fantasy Land. Then watched the parade again, but over in Frontier Land. This time I was able to get the Horseman and other favorites on video.

It was during this second parade that the "Jack Sparrow" flirted with me when his float came by. Jealous? HA!

IMG_3107.jpg

IMG_3105.jpg

The party was so much fun, but at $50ish a ticket, I dont know if I'll do it again. (That parade was REALLY good though . . . Hmmm . . .)

As we were leaving the party around 11:30pm, we were glad that it didnt rain. Just as we were getting in the car, it POURED! It was 12:01. One minute after the party ended! Thank God!

Since it was a late night, I told my Mother that we should sleep in the next day, and maybe go to Downtown Disney at our leisure.

That night, I slept very well, with "Boo...to You", still playing in my mind! :cloud9:

Stay Tuned!

Day 5 - Wednesday, 9/10

Today was a rest day since we were up late the night before. Unfortunantly, I woke up a bit sad remembering the break-up. I guess not having to jump out of bed, and having time to think, brought everything back. After I was able to get it together, I got up and we drove to Downtown Disney. I learned my mistake a few years ago - never go to DTD on the weekend! So today was perfect.

After shopping in World of Disney, and the Christmas store, we headed over to Goofy's Candy Store. I wanted some Rice Crispies Treats. As we were paying for them, IT POURED! So we hung out in the store till it slowed down.

With the rain down to a drizzle, we headed back to AKL to change. The temperature had DROPPED! I was really surprised that I was chilly. Fortunantly, I'd packed a demin shirt. After hanging out in the room for a bit, we headed back out to the Beach Club Resort for dinner at Cape May with LaMagique!

(On the Right)
image17si7.png

(Here's a link to her report! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1429647)

Originally, the reservation was to include MainStMandy and her Mom, but they cancelled since they were tired. LaMagique was happy to fill in a spot! She is now living in Florida and doing an internship. The last time I was at WDW in June, I also met up with her!

Going over to the Beach Club was exciting. I'd never been over to that area before. It is beautiful! When we pulled up to the gate, the security guard was a bit gruff, and pointed us to parking that was a bit far away from the main building. Insted of listening to him, I pulled up to Vallet parking and walked in the front door!

Since we were about 30mins early, we walked around outside to take in the view. I would love to stay there on a solo trip!

Soon our table was ready, so we took it, while we waited for LaMagique to arrive. When she walked around the corner, I was sooo excited! There she was! we caught up for a minute, then it was time to EAT!

Well folks, I must've HUNGRY because I have NO pics of the place! HA! I can say that Cape May is now one of my favorites. The salad bar was so good, that I did TWO rounds! Surprisingly, there wasn't much to choose from the seafood side. Fortunantly, the "regular" side was pretty good - especially the ribs and mashed potatoes. For dessert, I enjoyed the mini-(mango?)cheesecake.

On our way out, we bumped into Antss, Aubriee and crew, PennConn and Bf, Kat, and Bubba!

IMG_3119.jpg

(Kat, Aubriee, Hubby)

IMG_3120.jpg

(Aubriee's Mom Betty, Bubba)

IMG_3115.jpg

(Antss and LaMagique)

IMG_3116.jpg

(The 3 of us!)

After we said our goodbyes, LaMagique walked out back with us to enjoy the view!

IMG_3122.jpg

She then pointed us to the walkway that leads to the World Showcase! Since it was a cool evening and still a bit early, my Mother and I decided to walk over. But first, we had to say goodbye to LaMagique :( It was so good to be with her. I wished that she could've joined us, but after all, this was just another work day for her, and she had to get up in the morning. I hope the next time I visit, that we'll get to hang out a bit more. :wave2:

Soon my Mother and I were off to the World Showcase. We just walked around France and looked in the shops, before heading back out. We got back to the room around 9pm, and I was asleep in an hour!

This was a good rest day!

Firstoff!!! Your ex is a FOOL!

Did you know that I have NEVER eaten at Le Cellier. Always made Res for there...just never actually made it there.
Thank you!
LeCellier - you gotta do it! And make sure you eat the pretzel bread they bring to the table before the meal!

I just called your house.. not to talk to you but to your machine
I got your message! I REALLY needed that on Wednesday . . .

Lol those pics of us on TSM were hysterical...we were sooo excited!! And I am sooo proud of you for going on RnR...even if it was without me!
Thank you! Hopefully one day we'll get to go on together!

Oh, I am sooo excited!!! Another Glendamax report!!!!! I loved your last two. I still laugh about all the hot men at HS last time!
HA! Thanks Erika! I couldn't help but giggle when we were at MGM this time. Oh, it would've been nice to see some of those men!

Hey, a Glendamax trip report and we're in it. Great! However, please try to be a little more precise. I am a born and bred true Southerner and speak with a very SLOW, genteel, Southern drawl :snooty:, except when I get excited that is:rotfl: . Now you are right about my mom. She is from West Virginia and talks ninety to nothing.
Don't believe her folks! When Aubriee talks, you need subtitles! There's no SLOW anywhere in her conversations! HA!

i so need to go back on an adults trip now!
You better let me know when you book it! Maybe we can hook up for a meal or 2!

I'm still reading! Only 4 days til klofan I believe? :) Your #1, Pete
Hi My #1 Pete! The Peter Pan in the parade looked JUST like you! I think you should apply!

so glad you went on RNRC, good for you.

Loved the updates and pics.
Thank you Scott!

Toy Story looks really great. Was it better than Buzz?
YES! 10 times better!

Jesus did NOT tell you to get on, so don't ask Him to help you now-and this could be fun, you've always wanted to see what this ride is like-you should try things while you're still a bit young, besides, thi- GREEEEEEEEN:lmao: :rotfl2: :happytv: :rotfl2: Too funny LOL
Why thank you! Maybe I should apply to be a writer on "The Office"! HA! I LOVE that show!

A NEW FAN REPORTING IN!!!

I also have to say: CONGRATS ON ToT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did it, you really did it...By Yourself!! Wow, you have inspired me. I think I might try it..............when my youngest turns 10 (that's 2 years)...no when my oldest starts driving, that's 5 years (might be similar to the experience of riding in the car with him!:rotfl:)...maybe when one of them graduates and goes off to college (that will be worth celebrating...)

Oh well. Maybe I will stick with something safer....Goofy, here I come!:rotfl2:
Well Hello! Thanks for comming by! If you want to try RnR, go for it! Just dont stare at the cars as they keep pulling off when you're inline. The take-off wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, and there are no drops! So go for it! Life's too short!

YAY a new Gmax report!!!
Your Mom is a doll...love all the pictures...the one of her fussing at you is

WOW...ya met a TON of DISers...how fun!:dance3:

Your RnR experience was hysterical!!:lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!
Hey! Thanks for reading! My first ride on RnR was really something! I'm glad I did it!

I'm so glad that you got to stop by Pop Century and see my place! Which one of the shadowboxes did your mom like the best?
The Boo to You Parade is so awesome! Jill, John, and Brooklynn will be seeing it very soon! They leave next Saturday.
Hey Mom! I dont know which one was her favorite. We just enjoyed looking at all of them. I hope Jill has a great time! I know it'll be special time for the 3 of them.

I decided to check out your trip report after seeing all your great reviews of "home" over on the AKV owners thread. I love your report! That is so cool that you did RnRC too-you just cracked me up! :rotfl: And just for the record I have that same pink Mickey spring headband-good choice! :upsidedow Boma is one of our favorite places at Disney and its become tradition to have our last meal there before heading home. Glad I'm not the only one in love with that place. Very cool that you enjoyed MNSSHP too-even the parade! :woohoo: Don't feel bad, every now and then my family has to yank me out of commando ride mode and make me stop and smell the roses too. It's great that you met up with so many Dis'ers too-I've only met a handful so far, but everyone I did meet has been wonderful. Its so nice to put a face with the screen name. :) Can't wait to hear more. BTW...love your hair (I've been lurking on your loc report)!

Hey! thanks for following me over here! Isnt Boma the greatest? I wish there was something like that here in Baltimore!

Next time I go with my Mother, I'll know to do the trip differently. Much slower, and include more shows.

Now stop lurking on my Loc Report and post, so I'll stop feeling like I 'm talking to myself! :surfweb:

I love Pop and have stayed there several times. I am glad that you had fun @ MNSSHP.

Well I will be checking into Fort Wilderness this morning. Hee Hee. That was my trip report Glendamax. LOL!
You are terrible! HA! I hope you have a GREAT time! PLEASE tell me what you did, and have some pics when you get back!

Chucky Cheese on wheels? :rotfl2:
You are hilarious, Glenda! I'm not a character fanatic either, and I definitely didn't go out of my way to see the 3 PM parade. However, the Halloween and Christmas parades look like such fun. I definitely have to go sometime. Can't wait to read the rest of your update.
YAY! Someone like me! Oh, but I have to say that I did catch part of the 3pm parade, and it was nice. Oh Goodness, what's happening to me?

Hi Glendamax!

Just caught up on all your report. Sounds like you had a great trip!!! It's so fun to hear about all your dismeets. Everyone seems so nice and I love all the pics. We tried Boma this trip for the first time and loved it. We did breakfast. The girls still talk about how awesome it was. It was fun reading your first experience on RnRC. I have a love/hate relationship with that ride. I always ride it, but it scares me to death each time. :lmao: Looking forward to reading more of your trip and I hope you can get the videos to work.

Cathy
Hey Cathy! As soon as I get my computer working again, I'm gong to try all the tips I've been given for them to load! I have so many cute clips, and I rally want you all to see them!

It looks like a brontosaurus leg. Yabba dabba doooooooo!
YES! It does! And it was really good!

:thumbsup2 Awesome. It sounds like you all are having such a good time. I am so glad you stopped to see the show and the parade, TWICE!!:thumbsup2
Me too Tammy! It was sooo good!

They started putting up the Halloween decorations when I was there at the end of August. I am going to try to go next October.....pending points of course! Kidani is calling!!
Regarding RnR.....I guess I have to find the courage to do the mini Mission Space....for some reason the thought of that just freaks me right the heck out but I go on everything else with no worries. As for RnR I go on but it kills my head....you see I am vertically challenged at only 5'2 :lmao: so my head knocks off the restraints! I have tried it all, leaning forward, back, etc! :confused3
Thanks for noticing my avatar! It's my miniature pinscher Ziggy driving my Mini Cooper!:rotfl:
That is just TOO cute! I love it!
Funny how Mission Space is scary to you! It's sooo tame. Unless you are afraid of the small space.

Hopefully.
I would love to go then too! Hopefully, I can go the second week in December. If I get that week off, I'll let you know! Maybe we can take a side trip to you know where, to see you know what, and buy some Harry Potter souveniers . . .

Gotta Run . . . Be back Later . . . Thanks again EVERYBODY for reading and posting!

Well Gmax, I would love to apply to be in the parade! Unfortunately, I highly doubt being Peter Pan will pay me that much. And I'm gonna need about 100 dollars an hour to wear tights. HA!

Aww Man! I didnt even think about giving you a call - but yes, it WAS during your nap time!

Slow down girl! You are the fastest TR writer ever! ;)

Oh and what did your mom have at Pop? I am in LOVE with the asian chicken salad there!!!!
Well Kat, I try my best to get it down as quickly as possible, while I can still remember things!

My mother and I had bugers. We were tired and hungry, so we picked something easy.

so glad to catch another report and good for you for conquering RNR!

looking forward to the rest of the party - we leave on Saturday and I am so excited to go to the party!
HEY! I hope you have a great time. Try to get a shot of the Horseman! He's kinda fast so be ready!

Glenda, to be mentioned by you is so awesome! I love your trip reports, as do your many other fans. I can't wait to spot you at the World someday, and to show up in one of the pictures in your famous TRs!
Girlbomb! Well I hope you go back soon so I can read another one of your reports. It would be even better if I was in it! :snooty: HA! Thanks so much for coming by! (So am I doing ok so far?)

Glenda...first you conquered EE now RnR!!!!! What great accomplishments on this trip!
Yes! I figured if I had the guts to cut off my hair down to less than 2inches, what's the big deal about a ride that lasts about 70 secs!

8pm for the party. :scared1: what were you thinking?
I really didnt think that we would get there that late. But should I EVER do it again, I won't make that same mistake!

Nope! I used touringplans this time too! So I dont know why we didnt have more matches?

aubriee, regardless of what you say, you talk faster than any southerner I've ever met!!!
See? Thank you!

I didnt get sick either - but right now as I type, my throat feels funny. It's probably between all the vitamins I'm STILL taking, and allergies. Let's hope!

Your mom is such a sweet lady! I know we'd really enjoy each other. I'd love to meet up again sometime!
I really hope so too. When I figure out when I'm going, I'll be sure to let you know. I was going to wait till Dec, but my AP expires in September. So most likely I'll aim for Jan./Sept.

Well DISers that's it till Monday! I hope everyone has a Magical weekend! :wave2:

Glenda, your trip reports rock! :worship:

I wish that we would have crossed paths while we were there. You and your mom look like you'd both be a blast to meet! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :goodvibes

great update! i haven't been to the MNSSHP yet. never really seemed much fun for the adult. unlike you though, i am a sucker for shows and parades and dutifully wave like i am supposed to. just can't help it. i guess that is why my mom likes going with me because she would rather watch each and every show, street performance, and parade than ride. i would think that it would be cool to ride haunted mansion during halloween festivities though so maybe i'll go one day.

glad you got over to the beach club area. i love this area of WDW. i spend a lot of time in epcot so being able to walk in at the international gateway right to world showcase is a favorite of mine. i have finally decided on BWI for my birthday trip in April so I will let you know dates just in case you plan to join me.

edit: okay so don't quote me on that. i change my mind on the resort daily. this morning it was BWI...yesterday it was POLY....now i am back to my beloved AKL. who knows where i'll be until i actually book. never change my mind once i book.

GlendaMax,

Sorry I had missed the last couple of days.... Lots of issues :o) I am now caught up because I am off today, and hopefully rest will follow today, but I doubt it because I have the little one at home.

1233.gif
to you for getting on the Rocking Roller Coaster. That is the one ride I cant bear to tackle. When we were there in March, I could not ride it so I had an excuse, and before that I told Kelsey that the ride is not good (even though she was tall enough) ;) :rotfl2: Ok, because you tried it I may give it a go. :confused3 :rotfl:

I love the Pop Century we have stayed there twice so far.It was a fun place. My only gripe was the last time I was pregnant and the bed weret all that comfortable (of course).

You guys ate at Anthonys Favorite restaurant... BOMAs he beggs to go there often. I have not decided if we will grace them with our presence this trip but I am sure he would love it.:thumbsup2

YOu have perfect pictures. Everytime we go I say I gonna take a bunch of pics but I get too lazy. i am thankful to get the ones I have

Your mom is beautiful, and I can tell she had a blast.

Great pics :thumbsup2

Little does Lamagique know, she has a mama in Illinois!:goodvibes Is she interning with Disney? I'm soooo excited if she is!

Beach Club/Boardwalk area is so gorgeous. We always make sure we eat at Cape May so we can hang out over there. The hubby doesn't want to stay at either place but I think he'd do it after they go through a rehab. He has freshness issues.

Hi Glenda! Great updates once again! :thumbsup2 I am so glad you enjoyed the Halloween party. My boys and I went for the first time last year, and it was awesome! It was so great, in fact, that we are going back this October, just for MNSSHP. That parade really is entertaining. I found myself smiling...really smiling through the entire thing. Oh, and the boys loved it, too! :rotfl:

Dear Glenda-
I just started reading this and have not finished but I didn't want you to think that I wasn't reading at all. My mother is making me read it with her because she is not too good at the whole working the computer thing.
Oh and I think that you and Mandy and I need to have a secret meeting of the "Glenda Likes Me Better Than You" Club. Kthanks.
Love your favorite Diser from Maryland (eventhough we all know I am your favorite in general)-
Kate

Hey GMax! So great to read your report. How funny--we were at MNSSHP on Tuesday 9/9 too and never saw you!

This is our 3rd year going to the party and the first one that was completely dry! We don't usually ride any rides at all. We're more into the parade, fireworks and characters. And no, we don't have any children with us. We're just 2 big kids when we're there.

We didn't eat at the Wave because I don't eat seafood but I remembered that you were eating there so we went in and walked around just to see what it looked like. It looked really nice and tranquil I thought. Too bad I don't care for the food.

The other funny thing is that we were there the same week as you and we only saw rain on Friday 9/5 when TS Hannah was going by and then again on Thursday 9/11 while we were at WL having dinner at Artist's Point. You mentioned rain at DTD and right after MNSSHP and we didn't see that. It's so funny how 1 mile can make a difference in whether or not you get rain.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!
