Day 4 - Halloween Party (part 2)
When I left off in the last installment, my Mother and I were standing near Liberty Square waiting for the parade to start. Cast Members were selling balloons, glow stuff and entertaining the crowd.
Soon, the Headless Horseman came riding through! I tried getting a pic and missed, but was able to get him on video!
Well, seeing him REALLY got me excited! Maybe this won't be the kiddie-fest,
WHILEST I stand on my feet, that I thought it would be!!!!
Soon the parade began, with the first float!
I thought it was cute, and had an "OH!" moment! I finally understood the "Boo To You" Siggie Pumpkins that are passed around on the DIS! Then of course the song began, "Boo to you, and Trick or treat . . ." OH!
At this point the characters in costumes start to come down the route, and believe me, I only started taking pics for THIS report. I felt like a teenage girl at the mall with her parents - just thinking "wuteva".
But as you all know, Disney gets even cynicle people like to smile. Because here's comes Peter Pan and Wendy. Yes, when I was little (and even now) I wanted to fly like Peter Pan!
And you can't have Peter without Hook!
Even though I'm not Pirates, nor Johnny Deep fan (deal with it!), I was excited about this float!
My FAVORITE part of the parade were the characters from the Haunted Mansion. Of course, the pics did NOT come out well, so I mostly have VIDEO! UGHHHHH! The grave diggers were AWESOME! Very MANLY and Spooky!
Here's ONE pic of the guy who works in the graveyard.
After the Haunted Mansion came some cowboys hopping around. But! I spotted a Black cowgirl in the bunch! I guess I must've looked sooo excited to her, cause when she spotted me, she nearly laughed! She smiled at me the whole time she was near us! I almost waved!
My second favorite were the villians. Ladies, the witch from Snow White's makeup was FLAWLESS! I wanted to jump the rope and grab her by the shoulders. PLUS their moves to the "BOO to You" had attitude and like they were about to start CLUBBING right there in the parade! Loved them!
Soon the parade was over. It ended with Goofy's Candy.
Needless to say, I was REALLY pumped after the parade! It was so good! We then headed over to the Haunted Mansion, which had fog rolling over the grounds. Sorry folks, I could not get my pics to come out well. I ended up deleting them right after I took them. I did manage to get a shot of the Bride of the the mansion who killed her husband. She was sitting outside the mansion greeting all of her guests . . .
We then rode Thunder Mountain (fab at night!), and Pirates. I heard that the Jungle Cruise was fun at night, but once again, it was closed. So we headed to Main Street to see "Hallow Wishes". Fortunantly, it wasnt crowded, so it was easy to find a spot on the curb. Then who did we see? Are those cavemen? Is that Aubriee and her crew???
Since we had space by us, we all watched the fireworks together. They were really good! But I liked the Christmas fireworks better.
I THINK after the fireworks we rode a few things in Tomorrow and Fantasy Land. Then watched the parade again, but over in Frontier Land. This time I was able to get the Horseman and other favorites on video.
It was during this second parade that the "Jack Sparrow" flirted with me when his float came by. Jealous? HA!
The party was so much fun, but at $50ish a ticket, I dont know if I'll do it again. (That parade was REALLY good though . . . Hmmm . . .)
As we were leaving the party around 11:30pm, we were glad that it didnt rain. Just as we were getting in the car, it POURED! It was 12:01. One minute after the party ended! Thank God!
Since it was a late night, I told my Mother that we should sleep in the next day, and maybe go to Downtown Disney at our leisure.
That night, I slept very well, with "Boo...to You", still playing in my mind!
Stay Tuned!
