ADDED-Since Disney is now adding fridges to the rooms at the value resorts, starting with POP, many-if not all of the Fridge Swaps will no doubt be closing. I will be closing my swap after over 5 years. The only reason to continue a swap would be if guests are willing to deal with a swap just to have a freezer in their room. Since we don't have a fridge right now, I won't be continuing my swap for just a freezer. Others may do so.

If you are running a swap and will be continuing your swap for the freezer, let me know and I will post here.

Also, if anyone would like to dispose of their fridges (plus other items) I MAY have someone who can pick them up. My nephew is currently working at WDW and MAY be available to pick up your old fridges. I haven't checked with him yet but if there are items with the fridge he might use, I may be able to convince him to pick them up. Being a young, bachelor, recently relocated to Florida, he doesn't have many things in his new place. Send me a PM if you would like me to see if he can pick it up.

I’ve noticed some recent activity on Fridge Swaps that have closed due to missing fridges and I've received several requests for unavailable dates so I decided it was time to make a new list of available fridge swaps. The old one that is a sticky is sadly out of date. (2009) While some of the fridge swaps have closed due to missing fridges, there are still some that remain. Also new ones are allowed to start up as long as there is no cost to participate and someone donates the fridge. There are currently 6 swaps at POP and 2 at other Value ones.

It seems like many of the fridges do have a toaster and a coffee maker with them, usually donated by grateful participants.

If you are running a fridge swap post here and I will update this post with links to your swap.

And just a reminder-Fridge swaps are allowed to continue as long as no money is exchanged. Fridge swaps must start, and remain, free to all participants. If you want to start a new swap you can as long as you, or someone else, donates the fridge. Remember, fridge swaps must remain FREE!

Again, if your swap is active, let me know and I'll update this. If your swap is closed but comes back to life, let me know that as well. Mine was on hold for about 4 months starting last Dec. but thanks to accountingbabe08 my fridge was located and we started back up again. I am now close to almost 250 families using my fridge. I myself have used it 6 times and my DSis also used it once.

The name in blue is the current organizer and the date shown is either the date started or date taken over.

As a courtesy to those of us running these swaps (out of the kindness of our hearts) please make sure you check their available list (usually located in first post) BEFORE you request dates. Running a swap is a major undertaking-we don't need to waste time and PM storage space (which is at a premium when you run a swap) on requests. Thanks.

Also, if you join a swap make sure you do whatever the organizer requires. Be that doing in-person swaps, notifying of a change in your schedule ASAP, notifying of a missing fridge ASAP, replying to PMs, making arrangements in a timely manner, or notifying the organizer when you get the fridge-that you do it. It's a small price to pay for using a fridge for free. Thanks.

I did not! That's great. Sept. is a great time to go to DLR. I am jealous that you are going on another Disney Cruise. I would really love to do that. I am entering the Disney Cruise sweepstakes every day-Hope I win!

Let me know when your trip gets closer. I'm sure I'll have my AP back again (they exp. 12/23) and we love to go in Sept. DD's birthday is the 19th.

Thank you for posting this!! The swaps seem to get lost in the shuffle no matter how many times we send messages to have a sticky changed!

Also at this time the 'Minnie" fridge dies have a coffee maker

Fellow swapper organizers...

Our fridge stopped working. It was working fine and then it stopped. This was in the middle of one of the swaps so it was plugged in and working and then it stopped getting cold. Anyone have any experience with this happening? I'm wondering if it's a fuse or if there's a reset button?

I'm waiting to get the model number so I can research it. I know it's a Haier fridge. The swapper who has it now says when she got it it was on it's side so she waited before plugging it in. It's still not working though. I don't think it being on it's side is what was the original problem however since it was working and then just stopped.

any suggestions? TIA.

Bumping up to post the news that my fridge swap is DOA for now. Our fridge died and I am waiting to see if someone will donate one to my thread. To my knowledge all other swaps listed as active on page one are still so.

It's official! All Value resorts are getting fridges in their rooms. Installation started this week and POP and, I believe, all 4 resorts will have them by April.

Looks like the era of fridge swaps has come to an end.

No freezer, but I'm happy to have it already in my room.

I still can't believe that my fridge swap started up almost 6 1/2 years ago.

I would like to think I played a small part in getting fridges in all the rooms.
