@MIChessGuy this isn't directed towards you specifically, it's about the question and for anyone interested.

I definitely wanted to touch base on this again because it is confusing.
There's about a handful of well respected bloggers I follow and they're pretty much plastered on the main page; GC Galore & Doctor of Credit.

GC Galore wrote Kroger Has Reportedly Placed $1,000 Velocity Limit On Best Buy Gift Cards. September 1, 2020

Doctor of Credit posted Kroger Stores Now Limit $500 in Gift Card Purchases per Transaction (Best Buy Only) November 4, 2019,

That information came from Miles to Memories article Negative Changes To Kroger Gift Card Purchases & Fuel Points Program Nov 1, 2019. Written by Mark Ostermann who laid it all out:
Kroger is rolling out the following changes, already in effect:
  • Gift card purchases are limited to $500 per transaction.
    • Used to be $1999.99 at self checkout and pretty much unlimited at customer service.
  • A limit of 6 swipes per credit card per day.
    • This has been in place for a while but it is much more important now.
Then on Jan 25, 2021 at 6:20 am in comments Mark adds, The limits are just for Best Buy. He doesn't update the title of his article nor does he add an amendment, so if you don't read comments things can get a bit confusing.

The most recent article was posted on July 5, 2022 by Miles Earn And Burn, Kroger 3PGC Buying Limits.
  • General Limits
    • Kroger and Kroger affiliates can sell up to $1,999.99 in gift cards at regular registers or at self check-out. Most stores don’t need cashier intervention at self check-out for big purchases, but there are a couple of Kroger chains that need a cashier override for $500.01 or higher in purchases, whether or not gift cards are included.
    • If you move from regular registers to customer service counters, you can buy up to $10,000 – $18,000 worth of third party gift cards in a single transaction, depending on region. Some regions have a register enforced limit of $12,000 to $18,000 per-hour, per-store too.
  • Brand Specific Limits
    • BestBuy: $1,000 per 10 minutes, store-wide
    • Apple: $500 per transaction
All in all there hasn't been updates since then from anyone including The Kroger Company. In earnest, I think it best to ask Customer Service about the limits in your area. :flower3:
I ran into a self-checkout velocity issue at Kroger converting $200 VGC to $200 Disney Gift Cards. First two debit transactions ran fine. Then the 3rd debit attempt said "Not Authorized", so I swiped as Credit and a Kroger team member had to put in my Drivers License and that worked. I was able to do two $200 Credit transactions, but did not try a 3rd. All 4 transactions were at the same self-checkout kiosk, so may be I just needed to move machines as to not bother the Kroger employee.

Not sure if these velocity restrictions were put in place by Kroger or Blackhawk. I registered and reset pins on all VGCs before converting.

Where did you get the $200 VGC?

We bought two from Office Depot. One worked and the other didn't at Kroger.
Staples is too far for me.

Thought I saw this here recently but can't find it now so I figured I'd post it. Apologies if it was already covered.

Does anyone know if you can use the coupon on Disney GC's? I don't see gift cards listed under the excluded items. Apparently you can use the coupon twice, once in the store and once online. Wonder if you could get both a Credit/Debit and the Reloadable fot a total of 4 times?

DOC says it has been updated for dates between March 7th through April 3rd

Apply for a new Target REDcard Debit/Credit/Reloadable and Get $40 off $40 Shopping Trip (3/5-4/8)

Our Verdict

This is a regular offer and one of the best offered for REDcard, previous offers can be viewed here. Sometimes we see $50 off, but that requires $100 in spend. Sometimes you can also get $4 via Swagbucks as well but not currently available. There is no hard pull for the debit card or reloadable card.

Also note, the $40 coupon works both in-store and online (twice) for $80 off total. Also, you can apply for each version and get $40 for each, e.g. apply for the debit and reloadable (not hard pull for either) and get $160 total.

Friday Evening Post

Back in the summer of 1970 you could find me palling around with a group of really nice boys from the neighborhood. I wasn’t interested in playing with dolls, dressing up for tea time, no, I wanted adventure! There were five of us and we would do what kids did back then without a care in the world; ride bikes, climb trees, go fishing and find soda bottles to get cash for treats. One day Matt came barreling out of his house yelling “You’ll never guess what I found!” then he opened up his hand to reveal an old coin with a lady wearing a crown, and on the crown were stars. I remember this moment like it was yesterday because the lady reminded me of Glinda from Wizard of Oz. Matt told us he found it under his house pointing to the crawl space. It was early in the afternoon allowing enough light where a flashlight wasn’t needed so we all crawled under. We picked our spots and started digging the earth with rocks. There were a lot of old coins, odds and ends. I found several elephant statues in various sizes and details. I believe they were carved from elephant tusks. Time flew by in our excitement and before too long Matt was called in for dinner. As we crawled out, he made a rule; My house, my coins but you can keep everything else. We all agreed. I don’t remember what the others kept but my precious was a sterling silver 1932 Los Angeles Summer Olympics ring with an image of a discus thrower.

While moving from state to state, I kept the ring safe for years. I even had a boyfriend for four years, oddly I never thought to give it to him let alone mention it. It wasn't a secret, it just wasn't meant for him. Fast forward to 1986, I met the man of my dreams and didn't want to be without him so I proposed to him with this ring. Oh, yes I did! His response "When I'm ready to get married, I'll do the asking." Alrighty then, so I gave him the look, you all know it. We women have mastered it and as such, he accepted... willingly.

Over the years I wondered about the ring, was it designed for the silver discus thrower, who was he and more importantly why was it buried? Unfortunately the last question would never be answered.

The Man, his resting place and an auction

Henri Jean LaBorde 1932 Olympic Discus thrower
Born: September 11, 1909, San Francisco, United States
Died: September 16, 1993 (aged 84), Portland, United States
Alma mater: Stanford University

The ring was sold as Olympic merchandise along with a variety of other items. I don't know how many were made as that detail is hard to find. What's interesting is the 1932 Olympics were held during the great depression and for those who were able to buy anything other than food, well, that was amazing! RR Auction sold the same ring for $630 on June 21, 2018. Here's the description: Commemorative ring from the 1932 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, California. Sterling silver ring measures approximately size 9.5 and 11 gm, and features a raised image of a discus thrower and the Olympic rings, with one shank reading: "USA 1932."

For our wedding, I bought DH a gold band to match my rings and he wears his Olympic ring only on special occasions.

Unfortunately no.

Found a good stack for paying DVC dues: Chase Ink Cash bought $3K in Visa Gift Cards which gives 5x points (15K total) and since it’s the second half of my 90K sign up bonus, there’s another 45K points attributable to this spend for a total of 60K points earned.

I then took $1K of those Visa Gift Cards (registered and reset pins) and bought $1K of Disney Gift cards at Kroger as debit transactions for 4x Fuel Points (careful with velocity here, only do two $200 consecutive transactions at self check out), which is $140 in free gas for March and April. I will do this two more times in the coming months.

So my effective cost on my $3K of DVC dues this year will be $3K less $900 in Chase points (60K*.015 per Chase point) less $420 in free gas which is a net cost of $1,680. This is a 44% reduction of my dues, and even ignoring the sign up bonus this stack represents a $645 savings.
Yes that is great i did a similar thing but there is only so much I can save with gas so used them at sam's club to get an extra 4% off with the Prepaid cards (Mine were Mastercards from Staples when they waived activation fees)

Unfortunately it's in there -
...Funco Standard Pop, gift cards, GilletteLabs Heated Razor...

Can always try throwing one in the cart and hope for a glitch but don't plan on it. Hasn't been a glitch in a long time.

Wonder if you could get both a Credit/Debit and the Reloadable fot a total of 4 times?
DoCs Verdict says you can, the DPs are in the comments of that post. Also the comments are a good place to look for pacing restrictions if you happen to have or had one of the cards before.
