UPDATED: Anyone else disappointed with CTMH

** We left the saga with my consultant not being able to provide me with any information as to when/if my replacement album would be shipped because they do not email her with exchanges. It has been 2 weeks, so I called the number listed on the website. The woman I spoke with was not going to tell me anything since I was not a consultant (so my consultant could've called to find out status?!!!). However, I told her my story and she agreed to look it up for me. It appears my album was shipped today via 2 day select! I sent a "sweet" email to my consultant letting her know that I called and talked them into providing me with the information and what the status was. If she would've picked up the phone and placed the call, she could've found out what was going on! **


I ordered my first CTMH (Close to my Heart) album through a consultant that was assigned to me. I went to the website to request that someone contact me. She sent me a list of 4 different albums (leather, imitation leather, linen, simple legacy) and the colors that they came in. I explained that I had about 60 total pages and she assured me that any of the albums would work. I also specified that I wanted a spine so the album could be engraved. Again, I was told I could take my pick.

I ordered the linen album in coffee (my DH's choice!). It was backordered and did not arrive for nearly 2 weeks. When it did arrive, one of the screws did not have threads and would not work. Therefore, the album was defective. I contacted the consultant and she apologized. Meanwhile, I realized that if I followed the directions, there would be no spine. I explained what I was doing to her via email and she agreed I was doing it correctly. Again, an apology.

My consultant stated she would send me a label to send the album back to the company. It arrived and I had to fill out a form and now I will have to take it to the post office. I am very upset over all of this. My consultant told me I could exchange it for a leather or imitation leather album and she promises there will be a spine. However, they do not come in the coffee color!

For my trouble, she is giving me a discount on my next order, but I'm unsure I want to order from this company again. All my pages are in protectors and are sitting on the floor waiting to be put in an album (they are about 6 inches tall).

Has anyone else experienced problems with CTMH? Anyone else receive defective screws? I don't want to get another album and still have issues. Just my luck - my first order and it was screwed (pun intended) up! :rolleyes:

wow! I have only heard good things about CTMH but I haven't tried them. But at least they are helping you even though it sounds like a hassle! What a shame to put all that work out and then have to wait more time!
Have you looked at Forever yours albums? They are not a home based company. I buy them from www.luvs2scrap.com
They come in beautiful colors, have a nice spine. That is removable so I am sure you could have it embossed and still keep all you pictures in the album...

I love love love their albums. To me, it sounds like a problem with the consultant, not the company. I'd find another consultant if I were you. Unless you're doing a party, they don't have to be local.

Only the imitation leather and leather have spines and no, they don't come in coffee. Again, sounds like your consultant is the one lacking in knowledge about the scrapbook products.

I'm sorry you had a problem with them, but really, their books are awesome. I just wish I could afford to own only CTMH!!
 
I am a CTMH consultant....the one you ordered from should have KNOWN more about the products she sells. I LOVE their albums!
I recently signed on as a consultant and I am in the process of purchasing one of every kind and color album...so that people can "see" what they are purchasing. Please do not give up on this company. Let me know if I can help!

Thanks guys! I only heard rave reviews on this board and at a local crop I attended. No one there sold it, so I didn't know how to go about placing an order. I went to the website and requested a consultant.

As an update, I filled out the requested form. I even wrote on the back to express my displeasure! :eek: I requested an imitation leather album instead. I received an email from my consultant today letting me know how much it will cost to upgrade. I don't have a problem paying the difference, but if she would've told me there was no spine to begin with, I would've started out with the right album! :crazy: I'm just frustrated, so thanks for letting me vent.

After I receive this album, I will place an order to receive my 20% off as she promised. Then, I'll probably be shopping for a new consultant! I'm clueless, so I need one who knows what she (or he if that is the case! :earsboy: ) is talking about!
 
You have every right to be upset. She should know what she's selling!!!

You can try to ask on 2peas for a consultant... I don't know how many are over there, but I think there are a couple. Doesn't hurt to shop around for someone you're going to spend a lot of money with!!

BTW, I think you'll be VERY pleased with the album. I have 6, but can't afford to keep buying them... lol... so I've recently bought some K & Co. ones.

I just found out that CM is about to roll out a personal embossing service so you can have what you want put on the spine of the book!
 
UPDATE: I still don't have my replacement album. :earseek: I emailed my consultant twice and she finally responded today saying that she does not receive any notification on returns/exchanges. She offered me no advice on when the album should be here or how long it should take. It has been about a week and a half since I mailed it back! :(

If I don't have the album by Christmas week, I will have to go purchase one from my LSS because I want to show my entire family the album. :Pinkbounc One way or the other, I'm taking the completed pages to the holiday get-togethers! ::yes::

When/If I receive the album, I will let you know. I filled in the comments section (and the entire back of the form :eek: ) with my displeasure. Maybe the "lost" my return! :rolleyes: At this point I have spent over $75 on 5 packs of page protectors and a package of extenders! :o
 
How did you ship it....remember that it is Christmas and everything moves a little slower because of volume! Since I live in MA and CTMH is in UTAH, things seems to take FOREVER to get here, so I usually pay extra for shipping.
I just know that when you do get your album, you will LOVE it.

I would be happy to assist you with any further CTMH orders!
 
Paulinewdw - CTMH sent a business reply postcard to attach to my box. I returned it in via USPS. Since it was pre-paid, I did not have the option to ship it any other way. I found a number to contact the company and plan to call tomorrow to find out the status.

I've been a CTMH Consultant for about four years. They are a very quality-minded company that DOES stand behind their products. I've always been really impressed with the customer service and the efforts they make to keep consultants and customers happy.

It does, unfortunately sound like you have been dealing with a consultant who doesn't know the products very well, and who wasn't willing to follow-up with the company about your order.

The Simple Legacy albums are designed to be "starter" albums, or gift albums. They are very reasonably priced, but don't have spines and generally aren't as high quality as the My Legacy albums. The My Legacy albums have sturdier covers and do have spines. They are available in several colors, either leather or imitation leather.

Please don't give up on CTMH because of this bad experience. If I can answer any questions for you, or help you with any CTMH items in the future, please feel free to contact me.

My album arrived the other day! I have been showing it off to everyone! It looks fabulous! I am very impressed with the quality of the album.

Thanks to everyone for their support! I wasn't unhappy with the customer service, just the fact that the original album was defective and not what I anticipated (consultant problem!). Just want to let everyone know the happy ending. Now I can't wait to show it off to my family over Christmas!:teeth:
