Updated a reservation to partially include the DDP

I have added the DDP to may stay in July, split stay first part for 3 nights and second part for 8 nights. On the 8 night stay I wonder if I could just get the DDP for 5 of the nights. Can I wait until I arrive for the first part of my stay and ask to change or would it be better to give them a call just now.

I believe that you would have to have them split the 8 night stay so you could have 5 nights of dining.

Those nights would have to be consecutive nights

So the days that you want DDP, QSDP, or DxDDP HAVE to be consecutive? I have a few random days I'd like to do it. A couple DDP and one DxDDP. Anyone know if that will work?

I normally just call and ask, but won't be able to until Monday at the earliest and I'm curious! :goodvibes

I'm wonderning about consecutive days as well?

I thought I read you could break it up in any format? We don't want to have consecutive days in a row, as we would like to have it be every other night.

Either I misunderstood, or, it is too good to be true...Tiger

We have a split stay coming up...
AKV 11/28-12/01/10
BWV 12/01-12/04/10

We have the following ADR's and other reservations...
11/28 - ADR @ Jiko (arrive late afternoon - no lunch at WDW)
11/29 - ADR @ Victoria & Albert's
11/30 - ADR @ Crystal Palace & MVMCP
12/01 - ADR @ Tutto Italia followed by Candlelight Processional
12/02 - Backstage Magic Tour followed by ADR @ Bistro de Paris
12/03 - ADR @ Coral Reef

As you can see, the previous rules for the DP would not benefit us for this trip if we were required to have it for the entire stay of either reservation. We have AP's and TIW so we were going to use this for our dinner reservations. With the new DVC system upgrades and the changes to DP for DVC members, we called today and got the DP for only 12/03/10. Since the meal at Coral Reef would be $35-42 and the DP is $42, we basically will get our CS meal for free! :thumbsup2

MS split our BWV stay and gave us a new reservation number for the night of 12/03/10. I made sure that we would not take a chance on losing our BWV reservation before I committed to this change. Sure enough, I had our reservations pulled up online as we spoke and the changes happened immediately. We now have two reservations for BWV with one 12/01-12/03 & the other 12/03-12/04/10. Sweet and simple! BTW, MS changed the reservation numbers to the original two ressies during the system upgrade.

This is a really good advantage for DVC members. You can block your ADR's on certain days to take advantage of the set price DP instead of the entire trip or just do it for one day like we did. I have a waitlist reservation to upgrade our BWV studio to a 1BR and they made the changes to that as well.

Hope this helps someone else with their plans.

I'm in the opposite boat: I was hoping that I could link 4 nights at SSR and 4 nights at BLT, so my deluxe dining credits would be valid on any of the 8 nights. The CM said this couldn't be done. Do you agree, or should I try for another?

Sorry, what I meant by consecutive nights is that you can't just say I want 5 nights of dining and have them valid for use during all nights of an 8 day stay. You have to specfici the nights you want dining and they then break up your reservation that way.

But, if you want non consecutive days, you then have to basically break up the reservation in to a lot of small segments so that you can add things day by day.

It's great to hear members are actually having no issues with the new systems.

This actual change has me wondering if I were to break up a reservation into 2 would it be better to call during my 11 month window for the check-in date and make the 9-night reservation then break it up later or will they allow me to book all 9 nights as "two seperate" ressies so I could add the Dining plan to 6 of the 9 nights.

Really liking what members are sharing so far! Anyone experience adding people to the room who will not be using the dining plan option yet? There are four of us going on the next trip, but only two want the dining plan.

We have not book the DDP yet, but plan to for our Dec. trip. A relative might be in the area during our stay and wants to come and see us for a day or two, if it works out. I was wondering what should we do.
Now, it seems like we will be able to add him for a couple of nights to our reservation. We have a 2 bedroom, so space will not be a problem. We are staying 7 nights arriving on Weds. If I am understanding this correctly, we can do the following. Have the DDP for W, TH add him for Friday and Sat, then for Sun, Mon, Tues we can remove him from the reservation.
Plus, we will not have to worry about his car. He will be on our reservation.
This is really a great benefit for everyone.

OK, I see people are adding in "segments" in the original reservation. I just called Member Services to ask about having 2 different dining plans on one reservation (we have a 5 night stay in Dec). She said I would have to cancel my reservation and then rebook it as 2 different reservations with different DDP each. I don't want to lose my ressie, so I won't do this. Anyone else get a different answer??? It seems like some of you were able to just adjust your current reservation without losing it. MS said I was taking the chance that if I cancelled and tried to rebook it would go to someone on waitlist and I wouldn't get it back.

I specifically said I do not want to lose my room reservation and if the change risked that, to forget it. MS put me on hold and when she returned she had split the reservation and gave me the new number. Word of warning though, I checked my ADR's today and they were not listed. Gotta call back tomorrow and see what happened.

I haven't called MS for a "split" on my reservations yet; however, I just looked up my ADRs on the Online Dining System and 4 of them are missing.

I read a thread somewhere yesterday that said some ADRs weren't showing up on the online system due to an issue with the upgrade, but they ARE in Disney's database. I'm going to wait a few days and check again. I have the original confirmation emails so I'm not gonna sweat it. (and our trip isn't until Feb/March!)

That is correct, I changed a ADR the other night and tried to check my ADRs online and they weren't there. I called the dining line and the CM was able to find them. The automated line said they are doing more work this week.

So, I am still confused about the consecutive nights. We do not yet have a reservation (7 month window is next week). We are renting points from a co-worker so I want to make this as least labor intensive and confusing for them to book for us as possible. Can we have them make our reservation for 7 nights and add the DxDP on nights 1-3 and 5-7? Is there a publicly available link to a brochure that discusses the upgrades that are allowed?

Thanks in advance!
