"UPDATE"Trees have been sent ! 3rd annual,DVC Christmas Tree, Sharing alittle Magic !

I have a few questions that may be obvious to others but not only is this our first time participating in the shared Christmas tree but our first time home. Talk about excitment!

1) In any case, the tree is at VWL when we arrive so I assume we have to pick it up from that resort's front desk. Is that correct?

2) If so, will Disney allow you to transport the tree on their buses or do we have to figure something else out?

3) Last but not least (I think), is their a bus that runs directly between VWL ad SSR?

pick up the tree from Bell service on arrival and drop the tree off at Bell service on your departure

This is so much fun!! I feel lucky to be escorting our little (I hope ???) traveling tree around the DVC. I am sure it will be one of the highlights of our trip.

Special thanks to Sue and our tree donor for making this happen!!

We ask for each family that participates in the Sharing of the trees to donate $2 or $3 to help ship the tree down to the resorts and back to the member. There will be a list on the box with each family name and their dates, (traveling tree, RESORT names) i ask you to please pick the trees up at the BELL SERVICE after 11 AM and leave them at the BELL SERVICE berfore 11AM for the next family. When you check in or ON the DATE you are to have the tree please ask BELL SERVICE a tree size box that is left with your name and dates on it and that you are to pick up a DVC TREE # 1,2 or 3 . When returning the tree back to Bell Service cross of your families name & dates and leave a few dollars inside the box to help ship it back to the DVC member who donated the tree. Also mention to Bell Service that the next DVC family will be picking up on ..date.
The last family on the list if you are not the family that donated the tree, i ask that you take the money out of the envelope to use for shipping and tape the box back up and tape the return address label on the box if not already on the box. I will get you more info where to go to ship the tree soon.

I want to take this moment and say to all of the DVC Families that are participating in this years DVC Christmas Tree sharing a little Magic

For the DVC Families that are donating the trees......


Thank You, Thank You... you actually have the hard part getting the trees together......

On the outside of the tree box please write really big DVC RESORT Name & Tree #. Then list your families names & dates. Traveling tree please also included the resorts too.

I put my list inside a plastic protector before taping it to the outside of the box. I aslo include in my tree box roll of tape to tape the box back up, black marker to cross off the names & dates, 2 extention cords, two sets of christmas lights for the balcony, envelope for donations, a card with your name and your return address, little token surprise for your families, anything else you can think of or if you would like to post suggestions that would be great...... if i miss something please let me know....

wdwstar ...... For the families that are donating the trees, do we use the address for the resort that is on our reservation and just mark it for bell service?

As for the 2 sets of balcony lights. How many lights to a set? We didnt have a balcony last year at SSR.

Gail & Joe I usually address the box with my first families name in c/o the resort address. The resort will take the delivery and put it in bell service right away. Then i put a card inside with my address and tape for the last family to tape the card over the first family and resort address. Make the return adress at the top of the box yours, just in case shipping down to the resort for some reason it comes back. I use Fedex it was $6 last year it was delivered in 4 days and it included in the price was up to $100 insurance.

I do have to say the tree made it but the box was smashed on one side, I am going to try writing fragile on the box.

I send two strands of lights, one exstention cord for the lights. My tree does not need lights its a optic fiber tree. If you have a balcony the lights look really great on it.

But if you dont want to send the lights that is fine you are already sending the tree and thank you very much !

I do need some members to post about shipping the tree back, where did you take the tree and what did it cost.

I was the last family to have our tree so i took it home with me.

I beleive members said last year you can ask the front desk or take it to the Swan/Dophlin buisness center.

I don't know where they sent mine back from, but there is a business center at the BW convention center that we have used to ship excess stuff home before. It is very convenient. There are also a few pack and ship places fairly close if you have a car.
