Well we survivied the games today! And we had a BLAST! I'll try and give a recap of today's events and maybe you all can get a good laugh picturing what we did for the kids today.
My team consisited of me, Shelley, Melissa, Debbie and Jay along with our "coach" Paula who is a Make-A-Wish volunteer. We all met at Cracker Barrel this morning at 8:15 for breakfast and to get our game faces on. Surprisingly, there weren't too many cases of nerves.
After breakfast we head down the road to Medieval Times where the games will be held to check in and meet our coach. We also have a Wish Kid assigned to our team as a "Mascot". The first stop is for team pictures with our kid. What a sweet little boy this little fella was......The smile on this 4 year old just lit the room.
At 10:45 we line up for the GRAND ENTRANCE OF TEAMS!!
There are 33 teams of 6. We each had to have our own entrance music...don't ask me what ours was ...I don't even remember HEARING IT! 
As they announce our team we are to RUN the length of the arena floor to our team seats. RUN??? ME???? But it gets better..halfway down we are to stop on front of the judges and do "OUR DANCE ROUTINE"!!!
OUR WHAT?????
Folks....this WAS NOT pretty......
After all the teams are seated in front of their respective cheering sections, the games begin. We had 50 people in our section from our office to laugh at us....I mean cheer for us....
The 1st game is The Shamu Shuffle......All 5 of us line up single file facing our team referee... Then they hand the 1st person in line a BLOWUP Shamu.....We are to put Shamu between our legs..."shuffle across the arena to our refereee, circle the ref and come back to the 2nd person WITHOUT LETTING THE DANG THING FALL OUT AND NO HANDS ALLOWED!! THEN THE 2ND PERSON HAS TO TAKE THE SHAMU IN THEIR LEGS WITHOUT THE USE OF HANDS AND REPEAT THE ROUTINE! If it drops you have to start over!! Imagine if you will a bunch of people running around like they have to go to the bathroom REALLY, REALLY BAD......that's what it looked like!!
And one more thing..the arena floor at Medieval Times is SAND!! It's hard enough running in sand but try it with a whale between your legs!! (there is an opportunity for a funny here but I won't say it ;P)
The team with the best time wins......NO..we didn't win and YES I dropped the Shamu!!!
Game #2 ..the USE YOUR HEAD GAME....NOT what I thought it was gonna be folks.
This time our ref hands us a bunch of balloons...NOT blown up yet. He has a big garbage bag and takes his spot across the arena from us. The game is this...one person blows up a balloon, ties it and places it between 2 team members heads and they have to RUN across the sand and drop the balloon in the garbage bag the ref has..Again..NO HANDS!!
Debbie decides she wants to blow up and tie the balloons....That was a mistake.... Ready, set..GO!! Debbie blows up the 1st ballon...places it between my head and Shelly's and away we go...EXCEPT Debbie tied her finger in the balloon and she is running right behind us screaming STOP STOP STOP!!! ROTFLMBO!!
We get her loose and we make the drop and run back just in time to see Debbie place balloon #2 between Jay amd Melissa....She didn't tie her finger in this one....BUT SHE DIDN'T TIE IT EITHER!! They take one step and frrrrrrrapppppp the balloon shoots out across the floor!!
Debbie finally got the hang of it and we managed to get 8 balloons in the bag in the 2 minute time limit....
At this point there is HALFTIME......Good cause I need a NAP!! After about a 20 minute break we are ready for the final event of the day...........THE DISNEY HAND-OFF Game sponsored by WDW.. This game is a fun poke at Orlando Tourists....
This one was NUTS!!! on the sand at our ref's feet is a beach towel..on the beach towel are the following items...1 Hawaiian shirt, 1 Mickey Mouse Ears hat, 1 tube of sunblock(white kind)and 1 dissposable camera...... The object of the game is to be a tourist....We line up...and have to one at a time...WALK as fast as you can to the beach towel.....put on the shirt, Mickey Hat, rub sunblock on your nose and NOT rub it in so your nose has that white junk on it...grab the camera and walk back to the next team member in line...hand them the camera....pose and ask them to take your PICTURE!! LOL...Once the picture is taken you get the camera back...WALK back to the beach towel, put everything back on the towel...walk back to your team and tag the next person in line and they do the samething until all 5 have completed the mission...LMBO!!! Jay and I had no problem getting the stuff put on really fast...but those WOMEN on our team!! THAT WAS NOT THE TIME TO PRIMP JUST BECAUSE THERE WAS A CAMERA !! 
By the time this one was over we were all rolling in the sand laughing so hard we were crying!!!
We had a wonderful day making fools and acting silly for the kids...The bright eyes and the smiles on these kids made the day very very special for us. We are already planning for next year!
Oh...and one more thing..Today's event raised ....$75,000.00 DOLLARS for Make-A-Wish!!!!
That's right 75 THOUSAND dollars for more WISHES for kids!!! Way to go team and way to go ALL TEAMS !!
P.S. Before we started today I got my team together and told them the flood of emotions that they were going to feel today. None of them had ever been around the Wish Kids before and really didn't know what to expect. I told them ..."If you feel like crying..DO IT! If you feel like smiling DO IT....If you find yourself feeling sorry for thses kids......DON'T.....Because it will show......Just talk to them...listen to them and love them.....That's what we are here for....... My team listened really well today...
They cried.....the laughed.....and they LOVED the kids.......
