*Update* Rooms all sold out- please help!

Clover,

So sorry about your Mom. We will pray for you. I joined AAA for 40 dollars and it saved me a few hunded. Also, try one day on either side of your dates or possible splitting your dates between hotels (you could get 2 different experiences? This may work. I have also rented points which was really great, but I think you may be to close to the date to do that. Stay strong, I hope your trip is as wonderful as possible.

Rene

Thanks so much for your ideas and help, and most importantly, your prayers & good thoughts, everyone. I really do appreciate it! I am going to look into everything you all have posted here. I will let you know what I come up with- keep your fingers crossed for us.

All I get for those dates is Saratoga Springs. :sad1: Thank you for trying, anyhow.

Oh- and to the previous poster- I'm not a member of AAA (let my membership lapse this year) but I'd gladly get a new membership to be able to get a reasonably priced hotel on property. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Try the dvc rental board, and MAYBE even getting DVC points off ebay from a member (check their feedback first). Also keep calling reservations -sometimes there are cancellations.

I also just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom to cancer nearly two years ago so I can understand how hard a time you must be going through right now.

Why do crowded this time of year? The Daytona 500 should not pack WDW like a summer month! I was at WDW last year the first week of Feb. and it was very nice. Very low crowds.

Mardi Gras fell on Feb 5th this year and most of south louisiana and a few other smaller cities on the gulf coast get the whole week off for the holiday/winter break. A lot of people from Louisiana go to WDW that week.

I hope you are able to find a room that week.

Hey Clover! I just did a search on the AAA website as well and it is showing numerous vacancies at resorts on Disney Property. Granted, the values are booked but there are rooms at all the moderates except POFQ. Animal Kingdom Lodge is an "affordable" (for lack of a better term) deluxe option, it costs less than the others. Whatever you decide, best of luck and we'll keep your family in our thoughts/prayers.

If you have an AAA card you can get a 10% discount off disney rooms. By the way I wish you the best with your mother.

what do you decide - clover9990

Let's just say that a real living angel helped me book a room at a moderate resort for the weekend we had intended on going to WDW. princess: We are so grateful- my mom was thrilled to pieces when I told her that I was able to get a room on property! She is so excited for our trip, and that's what really matters. I want this vacation to be as magical as possible for her!

Thanks again for EVERYONE's help- it was tremedously appreciated! :grouphug:

And to the angel- there will always be a special place in my heart for you. :flower3:

i hope your family has the trip of a lifetime
