I never wish something like this on anyone. Well here is a copy of the bill that I send to the builder today:

Re: Clean Up/Concrete Dust

Dear Carl:

Here is the cost of the clean up from the work which was started on March 18, 2004. As you are aware it was a major disaster through out the entire home. I am still working on this home and I am sure this will be ongoing through out the summer. Kindly forwarded a check to me for all of my hard work, inconvenience, damage and loss. I have itemized the bill for you and your liabiltity insurance company. This was an unforseen event that I am sure both of us would like to put behind us and move forward.

Labor: Hour's 392 Rate $10.00 per hour. Total $$3,920.00

Supplies: Cleaning fluids, polish, duster mop, deoderizer/disenfective, windex, filter's for heater/vents, laundry detergent, etc.
Total $100.00

Damages and Loss: Miscellanous Item's Total $980.00

Total Amount: $5,000.00

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Bless your heart. I would hate to have to deal with a mess like that :(

Hopefull all that concrete dust is now history and the new drains will work properly too. My best.

Good Luck!

Not to be rude, but that comes to about 11 hours a day, the builder may have a hard time believing that.

Please keep us updated....I would like to see if he accepts this (he sure should) and what his reaction is.

The builder was here and saw all the work that had to be done by me and my 78 MIL. I have worked non-stop on this house, most days started at 5:00am and went into the evening. Today as I type, I have my washer/dryer going, I have to wash every piece of clothing inside of my walk in closet. Everything in there is also covered with dust! I have yet to get into the basement. My price is very reasonible.

I will keep all of you updated. I hope to have most of this work done before my trip in 26 days. Also DD will be home from college on May 8th. That is going to be my deadline. I hope to make it.

Oh I am so tired, I washed clothes all day yesterday and MIL took alot of DH clothes home to do. Everything in our closets and draws must be washed!

I have not heard anything from the builder, however he tell me that he was going to compensate for my cleaning and everything else. I hope to find a check in my mail box next week.
