Update post 62---Prayers for my Uncle- he basically was dead on my living room floor

so a quick update- all the prayers and thoughts worked- THANK YOU guys!!!!!!


My Uncle was finally moved out of ICU to a regular room after 9 days in ICU. He was successfully taken off the vent and the feeding tube now too. He did a complete turn around from Sunday night to yesterday. On sunday, still in ICU, he was off the vent, but still not all 'there' mentally. He was screaming, moaning for mama and confused about what year it was. He was really uncomfortable and restrained so he wouldn't pull his tubes out. It was a pretty awful site to visit and have to watch him suffering.

But yesterday, he was a new man. I guess all the drugs worked their way out and he had complete mental capacity back and holding conversations with us. He is doing so much better!!! My DH came up to see him last night too (and take him his KINDLE!!- he was feeling good enough to ask for that). anyhow- my uncle broke down in tears and couldn't even speak when he saw my husband- i guess someone must have told him about what happened and how my DH did the chest compressions. He doesn't have memory of what happened, which is a blessing.

we are hoping maybe he can be released later this week.

the nurse told me she's worked with 4 patients that went on the hyperthermic treatment and none of them had good outcomes (either lost them in the end or they were brain dead). she said he truly is a miracle!!!!!

while he is terminal based on his pancreatic cancer (fighting for 2 years now), it is still nice to see him pull through this. He still has some living left to do!!!
