so he regained consciousness today, body is warmed back up and he is responsive!!!!! we were all shocked. he is still intubated, so can't talk- on the vent. But he recognized us and he responded with nods yes and no to questions (and not randomly, with intelligence to the questions we asked).

BUT...........while good news is he has brain function, bad news if they think he aspirated and could have some lung issues and possible pneumonia. Also, his heart is a concern, they are doing some sort of scan now and might want to consider surgery too.................so we gotta wait and see.
