UPDATE Pg 2 - My New Mustang Has Arrived!!

That is adorable! I love the color! Of course, according to my son, also a Mustang owner, you should have went with the V8! Edited to add that I love that name! Very cute!

See Avatar....

Just gave Ford 30,000 for a new Freestyle for the wife so I have to wait another few years to get my Pony, needs before wants.

Maybe they will have a Hunter Green model by then :smooth:

For those who think I should have gone with the V8, it was considerably more expensive and I truly like the look of the V6 Pony Pkg far better than the look of the GT. Besides, I'm coming from a Saturn 4-banger with 80-someodd horsepower. Moving up to a V6 with 200 horsepower is enough for me. I don't need to tempt myself into a ticket as quickly as the V8 would earn me one! Anyway, it's not the horsepower, it's how you use it! I could always beat other cars off the line in my Saturn... imagine what I can do now!

You need to consider the source of my comment about needing a V8. It came from my 17 y/o son. He has a 2001 Mustang V8 and it flies. He races it at the track here and it times at 10.2 or something. It's fast! So of course he says you need the V8 LOL! I'm happy with my V6 MDx myself!

10.2 pretty fast!

Magix,

Good luck with the new Stang. I had a '68 GT 350 Shelby in blue and was very happy to see the '06 and the retro theme.

Niece just got her '06, 6 with stick and it is one great looking car just like yours. Only problem is that Wilma went through and managed to do $6,000+ worth of damage to her 2 month old Stang. Now that really hurts.

Enjoy your ride and keep an eye on the speedo.

Oh, heavens! My condolences to your niece. Hope insurance will cover the repairs and they'll have it good as new for her very soon!

skiwee1 - I'm already planning to keep this car until a newer, even better one comes out in, oh let's say, 10 or 15 years. Then, I'll rip the back seats out, put in a roll-cage and take this one out with the vintage racing club my Dad runs with. :teeth: I will be taking it out on track at California Speedway next March, when our club has an event there, but it will only be for noontime drive-arounds with controlled speeds. Don't want to risk anything bad happening to Alex!

A V6 isn't that a waste of a pony car. I will wait till the new 07 Z28 comes along with the 7 litre V8 from the Vette. Ford did do a nice job making a throwback look though much better than the Stangs of recent memory like the boxes of the 80's and early 90's
I have the V8 GT. I love this car. I have let my two college sons borrow it occasionally. But today the one son drove home from college in it with me passengering. They're never getting this car off of me again. V8, 18yo guys equals too much power.
I love the new ones. I didn't realize the pony's only came in a v6. I've been telling dh maybe I should trade mine in for one of them.
