Update on our BLT contract & closing

Is this common for her? I emailed her Friday about our status and this morning and nada. Getting scared

Fidelity closes on the weekend, so if Rachel was off on Friday or didn't get a chance to respond to your email, today would be the first time she's back in the office since then.

Not common at all, but why are people afraid to call? she got on the phone every time i called her. Maybe she is out of the office, i would not worry, but i would call if i were worried and not rely on email. And as PP noted she is off on weekends so you she would not have responded over the weekend.

Well, I called today. No go. The loan hasn't been paid off yet. Kevin very kindly explained it to me & suggested I call back towards the end of the week. It's the last wait... I can do this...

I called today too. No luck for me either. I spoke with Kevin too, he said they are backed up and it is taking up to two weeks. He did try to get one of the people who add the contracts to the system on the phone but both were on other calls. He told me to try back tomorrow. Ours does not have financing associated with it so it may go a little faster. I'm hoping when we hung up he went to get ours moved closer to the top of the stack. Wishful thinking, I know.pixiedust: I figure I better wait til tomorrow as I would not want to call back and get Kevin again.

This has been my entire experience with her. So I would have to say yes. However, when I called she always answered or returned my call in a timely manner. Just call.

Are you guys calling disney direct to check on status? Mine closed last week too and I have not heard anything from the title company as of yet?

Yes you can call Disney directly. Google the member services number. You need the Disney contract number. You can find this number from the ROFR waiver which is recorded on the orange county comptroller's office website and search the sellers last name. Best of luck!

Yes, I called DVC Member Administration today. I pulled the Disney contract number & the seller's name off of our closing papers (they were emailed to me & I still have the email). I got the number to call by using a google search. Not hard to find at all, really.

Wow just got off the phone with a lady named Tammy, and let me tell you she was not nearly as nice as Kevin was to some other. She decided to argure with me about what the process was. I simply asked if she could check the contract to see if it had been changed yet, which seems like pulling teeth for her. Oh well I'll call back tomorrow I guess and see if I can get someone nicer to speak with. :confused3

I understand that waiting is difficult, but everyone needs to remember that this wait is what we signed up for when we decided to buy resale. I understand that it's not pleasant, but perseverating over it isn't going to help. Breathe, people, breathe. :)

4 syllables or less please, i had to google perseverating. At first i tried to break it down with my limited latin etemolygy but that didn't work, so google to the rescue:lmao:

I closed on 5/14. I called Member Administration and spoke with Tammy as well. She was very rude, and was the first CM I spoke with since buying DVC. I was disappointed and frustrated. I have tried calling again and I keep getting her :confused3. I know that because I bought resale they don't owe me anything, but she could have been pleasant. Oh well...it'll be worth it in the end!!!

I called again today to member admin as Kevin instructed me to do, and I got him again on the phone. He looked and it was not yet loaded and this time was able to connect me to the dept that inputs the resales. I did not get the name of who I talked to, but she was extremely pleasant and looked up that they had received everything last week and that they would get me processed by the end of the day and she would call me back with my member number. She told me once they finished processing it that it then goes to member services to get the points loaded which can take two days. So there is hope for you all that member admin can be helpful.

I had a similar experience. Finally I called back and spoke with someone else, and lo and behold, my contract was held up because the sellers hadn't signed a quit claim deed. The second person I talked to worked the pixie dust and got everything loaded, and I was able to make a reservation the next day.

I suggest that anyone who gets to 10 days past when your deed was recorded (and showed up on the Orange County Web site) call Member Administration and ask to speak with the people who input the contracts.

When I spoke with one of those people, she looked at my contract and noticed it was missing a page. I have no idea when that would have been found out otherwise. The title company re-sent everything. The downside is they don't actually put your contract in the queue to be inputted until it is complete, so it was another week before I got into the system.

For everyone waiting, I've heard multiple reports that it's taking 10 days to 2 weeks to get into the system right now. So, like ELMC said, just breathe. You're almost there!

Thanks for helping me learn a new word, ELMC! ;)

I'll try calling again maybe Thursday, but more likely Friday (simply b/c Thursday is busy for me). As to them not 'owing anything to me', it's b/c I purchased the contract I did that her mortgage is being paid in full. Do I get no credit for that?! lol

I called Member Administration yesterday afternoon and spoke to Kevin (he was so nice!) and I am in the system! I called this morning and was able to get online access.

I do have one question, however...we have a June UY and had no 2011 points. Will they load my 2012 points before June 1 so that I can borrow them now to book a vacation right away?

TIA :)

Call this morning too and we are in the system and just finished logging onto the DVC website! Now just waiting for my points to show up.

You don't have to borrow points for any reservation that begins after June 1st. Banking and borrowing have nothing to do when you make the reservation, just when the reservation takes place. For example, I made my January 2013 reservation in March 2012 using my 2012 (Sept. UY) points, no borrowing involved. And yes, once your points are loaded, all your points will be there.
