Update on OKW Refurb

Hello. I called today to find out how the progress was going at OKW with the refub. I was told by the call-center (I think) that ALL of OKW EXCEPT 23-26 and bldg 56 was DONE and that they would go down for refurbs in January.

Can anyone verify this? I didn't think they were that far along yet.

I am going in Jan and hoping for Peninsular Road but didn't know if that would be done by then. That's why I called. I think she knew I was coming in January so maybe the CM told me what they expect to have done by then.

Any word on an update? We are booked in HH March 6-10. I requested buildings 23-26, and I'm hoping that they will have been renovated by then.

We were there the beginning of Jan and were told all but 17 and 27-29 were done.I have to say the changes are ok but the cleanliness of the place since we we started going in 2000 leave ALOT to be desired.The bathroom floor and surrounding tile is so disgusting it needs to be bleached BAD! The refrigerator was a mess, nasty drips down the front, the stove same thing.There was something all over the bathroom floor that looked like they stained the furniture in the bathroom.

I don't go there looking for perfection I know they are stretched but it is time someone gave a housekeeping class to the SUPERVISORS because this is not acceptable work.

Not going to stay again for a long time.Calling someone would not have mattered the rooms have been like this the past few times we were there.We love the atmosphere of the resort so we kept going back.

We just returned from a 2bdrm in building 23 on Jan. 24th and that building had not been started as of that date. In fact we did'nt see any work being done on the buildings in that area at all. We did see a building on the left side, heading in, closed off on turtle pond rd. during one of our walks .

29 started on the 16th and 28 should be starting the 30th. (DH and I went on the 15th, and the check-in man gave us our choices of rooms, we asked what was renovated, and then told us that 29 was going down the next day - which it did - and 28 would be in 2 weeks).

We stayed in Bldg 24 during Marathon Weekend (Jan 6-10) and it had been "refurbished".

It looked like they were working on Bldg 25 (& possibly 26) while we were there.

We stayed in Building 30 (3012) in a dedicated 2BR. It has been refurbished, and we love it! The renovations were very nice, and we were pleased with the unit. We stayed in a non-refurbished unit in April 2010, and the we liked this one much more. We've read about disappointments with the updates, but we did not have any. We were thrilled!

Thanks for the replies. It seems as if all of HH area will be refurbished by the time we are there. Let's hope so!
