I have found a job and Roger and I have decided to take care of them together. Thom is going to be stubborn about it, but I really do think that the kids are better off with me after all.

That's great news about the job - a real positive step.

I'm not sure what you mean about you and Roger taking care of them together. Do you have a new place to live?

Good for you Becki. I'm glad you've decided to try to give your children a stable home.

Good Luck with your new job and don't give up on your dreams.

What kind of job did you get? When do you start? It sounds like a whole new exciting chapter for you.

Well, we had a really good discussion on Thursday night and decided that we would live together. (Actually, we are discussing getting married eventually....I'm not sure how I feel about remarrying.) I'm going to be moving into his place. The job I got is a data entry job with a company that I used to work for (my boss took me back with no problem b/c I was always the fastest and most accurate data entry operator there-little brag but I'm proud of it.) It's going to pay me $10/hr. which isn't much but it's okay for now.

glas to hear it. I am sure it will be hard and an adjustment but in the long run it is for the best. good luck!

Well $10/hour is better than $0/hour. I am glad you are making changes for the positive. A stable income will certainly go a long way to help provide what is necessary for you to help your children. I do not live in your life, so I have no comment on your choice of moving in with Roger. I only hope that you have clearly thought it through, and feel it is what is best for both you and your children at this point. Good Luck to all of you!!!

Just a thought - don't you think you and Roger should see how permanent these living conditions are before you bring your children into the mix?

Just a suggestion that you get yourself firmly on your feet before you throw more upheaval at your children and how/where they live.

Good luck to you all.

Good for you! I've followed your saga and congratulate you on taking concrete steps to move forward.

Never underestimate ANY job/experience, no matter the pay...it offers you additional skills, opportunites to problem solve/enhance your current job description, which can ultimately be carried over to higher paying jobs if you apply yourself.

Good luck with your decision. Will you continue to go to school part-time?

Cookie, he and I had actually already discussed spending the rest of our lives together (because we're both very happy together.) The only question is whether that will be as a married couple or as significant others/lifemates. I will be finishing the semester and will be continuing to go to college part-time (my boss is letting me schedule my hours however I want them as long as I work between 30 and 40 per week.)

Congrats Becki! Best of luck to you with your new job.
