got up at 7 am. put 55 dollars worth of gas into suburban. drove 55 miles west. signed in. waited about 20 minutes while filling out paperwork. turned in paperwork. sat back down.. waited 6 more minutes. was called back. nurse spent 30 minutes with julie asking all sorts of history took bllod pressure.. 168/106. took it again. 154/105... went got different moniter third time 158/108.... more questions. ,, after 45 minutes with th e nurse she took the history pages out to the dr for him to revue, took about 15 minutes he came in, started asking more questions, looked at jules blood work from last week and was shocked they hadnt already started treating her at our local hospital. cholesterol was at 357 total, ldl was 247.. hes not happy. started her on lipitor asap, an asprin regimine for bp till he can get her cholesterol down , (says if he tryed heavier meds before he gets cholesterol down they will counteract each other,) visited with us a while longer, looked at mri/catscan, did memory test, tested reflexes, asked jules if she wanted his help with getting on disability as it may take a "couple of years" to get her straightened out and her strength back. he may be from india, and have the really thick british accent, but we really like this dr. very thourough, very nice, very easy to understand the answers he gives, so looks like we are goingto be starting disability stuff. again. and are in for the long haul to get her back on the right track.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like you have a great doctor. I hope your wife continues to see improvement.

It sounds like they are going to get her fixed up. We'll be thinking of her.

Sounds good. Having a doctor that you like is half the battle. Prayers to Jules for a speedy recovery!

Oh my, Froggy!

I was away the month of August, no internet time. Just back and just finished reading your first thread about Jules. :sad1:

Please keep us all updated. Sounds like Jules is getting some good care.

Hang in there Froggy and Jules! :grouphug:

It sounds like you have a really good doctor, and that's half the battle. I have had several doctors from India and they were uniformly excellent.

Froggy - I'm so sorry and am praying for Jules. I have no idea what happened as I haven't seen the first thread. I'm off to find it now.

That's great that you got a good Dr. Frog. Now tell her to rest and relax! Or we may have to use that skillet on her!;)

I remember you two very fondly from the last WAPASADI, sorry to see all the trouble that have come your way but am SO thankful that you've found a doctor who will listen and who will take action.

Did you tell him that he's an answer to prayer?
agnes!

Thanks for updating! I'm sure she already is taking it easy but it's especially important that she does with that blood pressure.

Take care, both of you.

Jeff, did you guys come to Little Rock? I am happy to hear that they started Jules down the road toward recovery!

Good that she's seeing a specialist. Hope that BP goes down. Will she be doing physical therapy near-by?

Tell Jules we're thinking of her and wish her the best.

Hang in there.

nope, seeing a dr whos in el dorado. but he is uams staff, dr galeesh Kahleel.

i know its gonna be a long process, they dont want her to start physical theropy yet, wantto get bp /cholesterol in line before they recommend any heavy activity.

It sounds like you are getting sound advice. I am glad she is getting proper treatment.

You should look into a lawyer who specializes in medicare disablity cases. They can give you good advise so you don't have to waste time.

So glad you have found a doctor you have confidence in. Praying for you both and for your doctor.:grouphug:

well, she enjoyed her first no fried/heart healthy meal...

Glad you and Jules liked the dr. today. Wishing her all the best and prayers for a progressive recovery.
