So for the last 2 weeks I have been calling 3 times/weekly for updates. On Friday they told me they had a meeting with the marketing department and the new website will not be up now until November/December. The lady was very sorry, and said they are going to be partnering with honeymoonwishes.com, currently she said this website does not offer the rights to display Disney or Mickey related things. She they are still "ironing out the kinks."

I did take a look at the listed website above and registered for Orlando, FL. And it does have "some" generic disney items listed. You can tell it's a generic Mickey they have pictured next to the items also. I does list items like gift cards for Disney, Dinner at the Polynesian, Hotel overlooking lake by Epcot (only choice for Disney property). Basically people donate money and you get a "lump some" of the money via check or into your checking account.

Hope this is helpful info!!!!

Ah...finally an update! Thank you so much for posting this news! I've been checking the website every day and have not seen any changes. My fiance and I have decided we really want to honeymoon in the World so I was hoping to check it out, see if I could start a registry now. Blah.

I'm not gonna lie though, I'm still pretty annoyed at Disney over this. You set a deadline Disney, you gotta make that deadline! ...Nuff said. :sad2:

I agree! This is so irritating! My wedding is the first week on January, and I KNOW some people will wait until the last minute, but some might want to give early. So what should I use, hmmmm Disney?!

I totally agree with you guys!!! I was waiting to send out my invites and my bridal shower invites, only because it said "Oct. 2011" on the website. FI and I were checking the website 3 times daily!!! So frustrating, the employees that work with the registry... you could tell they are really embarrassed! The guy told me on Monday... well if you want you can give them this website "disneygiftcard.com" and they can purchase GC's for you! .....ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Wow.. I am so sorry for all of you that have waited for song long for this to happen, and have it not pull through. I have been checking back only about once a week. My wedding is not until June so I am hoping it will at least be up by January-February for me to be able to use it! I wish all of you the best of luck with your registry and of course, your BIG day!! :cloud9:

Man, that is pretty lame!

I just want to offer a word of caution - I was reading somewhere that many of those honeymoon registries that pool cash and give you a lump sum take theirs off the top - sometimes as much as 9%! Something to keep in mind, it might be better to have your family spread the word that you want cash for your disneymoon! :thumbsup2

This is true! you have to make sure you read the fine print on all the honeymoon registry sites. Most of them take a percentage out of the total amount of money you get.

Above posters are right.... honeymoonwishes.com takes 7%. But when you register they let you pick how you want it to come out: Either it can come off the total when you transfer it over OR you can have it charged to each guest with their transactions.

Thanks for the update! I, too, have been checking back a lot to see if it is up! Good to hear that it will be ready in plenty of time before my july wedding!
Does disney take a percentage off like the other website?

From the old registry, the answer is no. However, who knows what will change when they HOPEFULLY finally put up this new one. Make sure you read the find print ;) Don't want to miss something like that.:surfweb:

Ugh, I really hope there’s no fee instated. I refuse to use it if they do. Thanks for the update though.

Thank you so much for the update! I too have been checking every day for my March 24th 2012 wedding! I would love to put Disney along with our other registry with the invites so i hope it go's up in time!

Just thought I'd re-confirm the update...with an email response I got from Disney. I asked for a more specific date, but no such luck. I did get told to keep checking though...even though I said I don't want to...

"We apologize for the inconvenience, as we are still working on re-launching Disney’s Honeymoon Registry. At this time, we are working quickly to improve the experience for our couples and are putting the final touches on the website. Currently, we do not have a specific date as to when the new site will be available, but please continue checking the website. Any new information will be posted to the website as soon as it becomes available.

If your wedding is coming up in the next few months, you may encourage your guests to use Disneygiftcard.com. This site allows your guests to select a gift card with their desired amount to be shipped to you, or shipped to the guest to be given to you directly. These funds can be used just like the Honeymoon Registry and be used wherever Disney Gift cards are taken as payment.

If the timeframe is more than a couple of months, the new Honeymoon Registry site will be launched in the near future, so you still have time to utilize the new site and allow for your guests to gift to you, prior to your wedding date. We thank you for your patience, and hope you will enjoy the new features of Disney’s Honeymoon Registry.

Kind Regards,
Disney's Honeymoon Registry"

Oh well, at least I got a response. Let the waiting continue.... :surfweb:

I just got an email response that says the following:

"There will not be a fee for Disney’s Honeymoon Registry. You are correct that honeymoonwishes.com does have a fee of 7%, which is either paid by the couple, or by the Guests purchasing for the couple. So, you can either have the 7% added to the total that the Guest is paying, or you can have the 7% withdrawn from the totals. Thank you and have a magical day!
Kind Regards,
Disney's Honeymoon Registry”

Here’s to hoping that doesn’t change.

Has anyone checked out honeymoonwishes(dot)com? I did registry for this website, only because my mom agreed and felt it was tacky to put disneygiftcard(dot)com on my shower invites (personal choice, I know other people have different opinions).

I had dinner with a girlfriend tonight and she asked me what I wanted... $ in a card or $ towards honeymoon website. I explained that she would have to pay a 7% fee, she kinda looked at me dumb founded and said "what's the difference if I buy you a gift on your registry....you have to pay taxes at any store!" Basically she said she wouldn't be offended to have to pay 7%.

I agree with everyone, I'm disappointed in Disney for not having the honeymoon registry! I remember looking at it this summer and thinking how neat everything was laid out! I'm kicking myself that I didn't registry back in July (for my Jan. 2012 Honeymoon)!

But everything works out for a reason! We booked the honeymoon suite at The Wilderness and got a great deal, free dining and 35% off. Maybe because I complained about the Honeymoon registry!

Best of Luck to everyone and I'll keep my fingers crossed for the future brides!!!!

Just thought I'd share:

I got an email from Disney today, all about their honeymoons, so I thought "Awesome! I bet this means their registry is up!" ....Nope, I was dead wrong. Blah.

The wait continues....STILL.... :surfweb:

So I was reading this thread and it made me think I should google this. So here are some sites that I found. The 7% rate seems standard with most of them. However some of them charge an extra 3% as a processing fee for credit cards. So in case anyone was wondering here are some of the ones I found that seem credible.

http://www.honeyfund.com/

http://www.travelersjoy.com/
This one is partners with the knot, wedding wire and the wedding channel they seem pretty good and very straightforward. I need to double check but some of these have a facebook integration and will send you a template for insert cards in bridal shower invitations or wedding invites I am not sure if they do this.

Here is a sample registry from travelersjoy of someone that went to WDW http://www.travelersjoy.com/thefedwed/

https://www.honeymoonpixie.com/
I also really like this one. I am not sure why but it could be because of the 2 things I listed above and also because their site just gave me good vibes. Here is a sample of a registry from honeymoonpixie of a couple that went to WDW http://www.honeymoonpixie.com/couples/adamandmelissa

I have not picked one but I probably will soon especially if Disney does not fix theirs.
