We received a TA communication that just said he will be appearing 'soon'.

Had dinner with a friend last night who is in town and she says she saw Kylo Ren yesterday at the Studios. Maybe this was a trial run.

On Disney Parks Blog, they said that he would be appearing at the Disney Visa M&G as well, replacing Vader there, too.

Am I the only one who is disappointed with this replacement?? My son is a huge Darth Vader fan and is looking forward to meeting him when we go the first week of Feb. He will be very upset if Kylo will be there instead.

Nope, DD and I are disappointed, too. We'll be there in March, so, apparently, no shot at Vader. DD was NOT happy when I told her about the change.

I'm a big Kylo fan, but Vader is why I became a fan as a young lad, leaving me torn. I wish there was a way both could be available. Make Vader exclusive to Chase holders?

Importance of DDs getting on the Vader platform of Jedi Training just went up.

Unfortunately, my DD will be 16, so she's out of luck. And, if she didn't look MUCH older than she is, I might have even been tempted to have her try to pass for 12.

It would have been nice if they had added Kylo but kept Vader, too. And, especially with the upcoming closures, it seems like it would have made sense to have them both, if only to give the crowds somewhere to go.

No, you're definitely not the only one. My family is disappointed and DS8 is devastated. I wish I had never told him he would get to meet Vader. I thought it was safe to tell him since the launch bay was new. My family is huge into meet and greets so it has been a depressing few weeks with all the announcements of characters that are leaving. Other than a one day MK visit last summer this is our first trip to the other parks so we have never met any of the characters that they are taking away. But the news about Darth Vader has been the biggest blow yet.

Are you going to take your DS to Jedi Training? I've read here on the boards that if you ask politely, often the CM's will allow you to specify whom you want to battle. I bet if you nicely explained the situation with your son they'd let him fight Vader.

We are disappointed too. We never got to meet Vader. Also, we don't particularly like the acting for the character in the movie, so we kind of don't like the character now. I might taunt him. Actually, a lot of people seem to dislike the character. He looks cook with his mask though. I just hope he keeps the mask on. We will definitely go for Chewie first though and then maybe only do Kylo with the Visa M&G, if the line's not too bad.

I am going to WDW next week and am hoping that we will meet Vader…I'm thinking we should be safe and it shouldn't have switched over to Kylo Ren yet but with my luck they will have Vader switched out by next week.

Yes we are planning on doing Jedi training. DS is definitely hoping to fight Vader. I will definitely give it a try. Thank you so much for the advice! That gives me hope!

Very disappointing. Our DDs have only seen the original trilogy so aren't going to care about Kylo and I don't like him. Oh well, we were a little worried Vader would scare DS3. I guess we don't have to do a villain now, just Chewie.

It's like learning that Olaf is coming to WDW but then finding out he's replacing Mickey.

I love that we will get a chance to meet Kylo
But that because we meet Vader last month
I don't get why it's one or the other either
Unless it's a budget thing
As I understand it they pay for characters out of the studio budget, or something like that. I'd have to look it up again to get specifics
But I wonder if having both characters out, even if they spilt time, would double the costs
