DS Update. He missed trick or treating Sat. Sat AM he stayed pretty cool. Around 4pm his voice was changing and his temp was 99.7 so I told him you can only go to 5 houses right next to our friends-- where I dropped off DH and DD to trick and treat. He was OK with it, I should have known. We were gone less than 20 minutes driving and all. An hour after returning home temp then went to 100.2-motrin and off to bed. Sunday temp was 99.7 again and a dry cough. So I went and tested him and he is inf A+, the on call doctor called in tamiflu. Now tomorrow I have to call his doctor, the nurse there is pretty sure our regular Dr. will want to preventively treat DD. And no school probably the whole week for DS.
My initial plan was to have my DM watch DS monday so I could go to work as nurse. But 2 weeks ago I told DM she could not watch any grandchildren with the flu, she is a CA survivor, so with DS coughing today I couldn't in my mind send him to DM with that nagging thought (flu?) nor would I let anyone else in my family take a kid to their home with the flu.
Today was to be his halloween party but at 3:30AM he was up being sick. He is OK that he is missing his school party. He finally woke up after 10AM. He's got a temp around 100 alternating motrin and tylenol and a cough. He got the regular nasal flu mist around 0ct 1st. He is eating and drinking and we played battleship, so no doctor visit at least today. Last year on Halloween he got a temp and then stayed home 10 days with lots of doctor visits. I'm not sure he going to go treat or tricking tomorrow yet.
I saved 50 hours this year for ill kids in my time off, work gave me the whole day off. I told my mother to stay away from all her grandchildren who might have the flu, I told her so can only watch the ones with a sinus infection/ear aches. So today I had to be the adult and say no you can't go to grandma's.
But I'm really hoping if we all get it for it to go thru us fast cause it is off to disney in 25 days. D
