My FIL is the Pastor of our church and we just got an announcement in the mail that the celebration for his 25th Ann. with the Church is the same day.

We live around 45 mins away and Church starts at 10:45. Think there is anyway I can make it there (looking halfway like a normal person) on time??

My brain says I won't be able to, but my heart wants to try........

UPDATE
After talking to my DH, I am doing it :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just booked a room at the Boardwalk Villas for Saturday night. The current plan is DH will stay home with the kids, but that could change.

My sister is coming with me for sure. I will run the Minnie, run back to the room, jump in the shower and dry my hair. My sister will drive and I will do my make-up on the way. I will probably buy a cordless curling iron and curl my hair on the way. I will change when I get there.

It looks good on paper, we will see how it works in person.

The race starts early and worst case scenario you'll be done in a little over 2 hours. Talk to your FIL and see what his opinion is about you maybe being a little late. He may be willing to help you come to a solution that will allow you to do something impt for you and to participate in his special day. Good luck with this dilemma.

Awww Christy I am sorry to hear this. I was thinking the same thing. Could you be "socially" late for the worst case?

I am sad that I cannot go so I feel bad for you.

Hope it works out some way.

That is what my mom said, too. I will have to talk to DH and DFIL and see the "schedule of events". My DH is at the rain-postponed Nascar Race tongiht, so I probably will not talk to him until tomorrow. I will also talk to the guy in charge of the day and ask him the "schedule". I am hoping it will all work out!

Do they still sell those curling irons that do not have to be plugged in??

I'm glad you're going to get to go. I havne't seen the curling irons that don't have to be plugged in in quite awhile. I bought a converter for my car so that I could plug my laptop in and use it while on the road. My normal plug plugs into it and it goes into the cigarette lighter. It works great and was only about 40 bucks but has been a lifesaver!

Woo hoo - you get to go!

I bought a cordless curling iron a couple years ago. I think I got it at Target - you might find one there.

Kristi

I looked online and there are tons of cordless curling irons. I need to look around here and see if I can get one without paying shipping. Of course the plug adapter for the car sounds interesting too.

I am really excited that I am going to do it. I was so sad that I tried to sign up too late for the 1/2 this year, to miss the Minnie too was going to break my heart.
Nothing helps you step up the training more than knowing you have to do it quickly!!

That's so great Christy! The closer we get, the more excited I'm getting for my "girls weekend". (I'll have to bring DS's lots of souveniers to take care of the guilt of going without them)

When I had read your original post I was bummed for you because it sounds like it's going to be an amazing race.

I'm soooo excited you were able to find a plan that will work out for you to do both. Excellent news!!!! Best of luck!!!!!!

Woooohooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the nice thoughts. I am really excited about being able to make this work!!
