Update ADR's to add 1 person...?

Hi. We are going in August during the Free Dining and our ADR's have been made since April. Now, we have invited one of DD's friends to go along with us (will know today if she can come or not) and I was wondering if I need to update the ADR's from 3 people to 4 or just show up with 4. Most tables are made for 4 anyway and I don't want any surprises like..."Oh, sorry but a table for 4 is not available at the time you have reserved." Anyone had any experience showing up with 1 extra person? Thanks for any info!

Last year when we went I had to add 1 more person to the table about a month before we left. They canceled/rebooked our ADRs with the correct number. We did end up changing dates/days for the big character meals. Our group was a lot larger though as we went from 6 to 7.

some places do have tables for 3...Ohana's is one I can think of off the top of my head.

If it were me personally I would just show up. The majority of places will have seated you at a four top anyways. If you call they will cancel your current ADR and rebook you. You then may not get your time or date. That's just my .02.

as it turns out the friend can't go anyway. DD is a little disappointed (she is an only child and would have greatly enjoyed a friend) but she knows how much fun we have together also. She and I will do our ritual of riding TOT and running back to get in line over and over just as the park is closing! We love it and can't wait! Thanks again!

We had a similar situation...we are a party of 3 and now friends of ours will be joining us, to make 5. I changed all of our ADR's accorindingly. For almost every ressie they had to cancel and rebook. If we were changing from 3 to 4 there would have been no need to rebook at most places, but 5 people changed the size of the table. You should be fine, but if you can add someone now and not have to change your times, I would get the piece of mind before you show up at the podium.
