UPDATE 8/7: My FIRST PTR! FWF Fantisies...

id·i·o·cy

1.extremely stupid behavior.

Who forgets to start making ADRs at the specified 180 days? This idiot.:headache::mad::scared::crazy2:

There really aren't any smilies that indicate complete heart failure.

I woke up this morning in a panic, realizing that I did, in fact, forget about ADRs. My 180 mark has passed. I started using the app to attempt making ADRs just in case it was my day to also buy a lottery ticket. It was not.

I called the ADR line just for funsies. Also not successful. Duh.

So, I did what every other overly committed Disney Freak would do...I called and changed my entire trip to next week. Ha! Take that, universe! Errr...take that, my own idiocy!

However, this did get my head back in the game and I have an official first draft plan!

Saturday: Flying to SC to spend the weekend with my SISTAS!!!! :woohoo:
Monday: Driving 8 hours to Orlando; staying somewhere off property
Tuesday: Crystal Palace Breakfast/Epcot FWF and if I'm luck Illuminiations Cruise!
Wednesday: Keys to the Kingdom Tour & BOG
Thursday: Epcot FWF (back up Illuminations Cruise day)
Friday: AK/HS
Saturday: Resort/Relax Day OR Harry Potter. I have a feel Harry Potter will win.
Sunday: Go home

We have plenty of flexibility here so this may change, but they are our initial plans! Thinking I might split up Friday with Saturday to better accommodate HP.

Off I go now...I can hear our siding contractor singing Old McDonald Had a Farm...I should probably go check on him.

OMG, forgetting the 180 day mark...so stressful! I did the same thing! Luckily I remembered just a day or two late so I was ok. I was also only looking for a few reservations and was pretty flexible about timing. I love your solution of rebooking! Amazing! And great that you guys have the flexibility. :thumbsup2

Your plans are really shaping up! Boma sounds awesome and I will look forward to hearing what you think. Also, the Illuminations cruise! How cool! Really smart that that you have a day set aside as a backup, too.

How's the house project coming along?

I almost felt a little lame rebooking...but a couple ressies are very important for me on this trip...mostly because once this house is done and we focus on opening a business...well, who knows how finances will be for a very long time!

We changed from Boma to Crystal Palace. I need to meet the Hundred Acre Woods bunch! And the cruise is one of my biggest wishes (no pun intended)!

How's the house project coming along?

I don't want to talk about it. Haha! It is just slow going, and I am not patient by nature. We had some leaks so we had to start residing the house way earlier than I wanted to. In my next update, I promise pics!

Following along! We are staying on POR in just a few weeks for the first time. I've heard it's a beautiful resort! I think I would have cried if I forgot about our dining reservations window. Thankfully I have a super awesome travel agent that booked everything for me so 1 - I didn't forget and 2 - so I didn't have to get up early to do it! LOL!

Oh I can't wait to hear about your stay!!! I hope you love the resort and have a fantastic time! We actually contacted two authorized Disney agents and one was slow to respond and the other never responded! I gave up lol. Which is fine-I do like the planning...when I don't forget massively important things lol!!! -Teetah

Joining in! We are staying at the POR for the first time this August. I can't wait! Looking forward to hearing more plan details!

Joining in!

First...love the home remodel, the kitchen is gorgeous and I love the statement door!

Looking forward to hearing more about your plans.

In my last update, I had committed a major crime and forgotten my ADRs. However, we were so fortunate as to switch our dates to later. This worked well, as we are visiting my sisters on the way down and are able to attend their city’s Fall Festival, which they are very excited about! It also corresponds with my Mom’s birthday, so they might join us for that weekend! It all worked out very nicely. I will miss out on free dining, as we are now in blackout dates, but I am hoping for a surprise room discount to come out. Fingers crossed!

We have more detailed plans now, which is great. However, as you know if you have read on my previous posts, I am careful not to over plan. The Hubs and I like to have the opportunity to be somewhat spontaneous. I have a basic idea of what we are going to do every day, but nothing set in stone except for tours, ADRs, etc. So, with that said, here is our plan so far:

Saturday & Sunday – Greenville, SC to visit my sisters and attend their Fall Festival

Monday the 13th
Get up early and head to Orlando! No idea where we are staying yet! Road trip items? Or spa/pool at hotel? MAYBE MNSSHP!!

Tuesday the 14th – MK & Epcot
Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace Breakfast
Epcot: Illuminations Cruise

Wednesday the 15th - MK
KTK Tour
Pool Time
Dinner: BOG if we can get it!

Thursday the 16th – Epcot FWF
Pool Time
Le Cellier

Friday the 17th – AK/HS
Morning: HS
Lunch with an Imagineer – Brown Derby
Rest of the Day: AK

Saturday the 18th – Harry Potter World
Sunday the 19th – Home

Sounds good, no?

On to the house update!

We are currently living here! Very exciting! We have been here a little over a month now, and we are still leaving on the bare minimum of our stuff, but we sleep, eat and shower here. These photos are from probably a month ago…there is much more finish work done now. We did get held up quite a bit because two rooms couldn’t get touched until siding was redone on that part of the house due to leaking that was occurring. And this is Indiana, so weather had to cooperate…

I promise good photos when we are out of construction mode and I have the chance to take some good photos!

AND THE SIDING PROJECT!

Our new color!

AND THE MESS!

That's all I got for ya! Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hey everyone! For some reason, the fact that I have a new update isn't showing up - so I am posting again to see if I can make it work. So, there's an update up there! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi! Thought I would follow along.

Your plans look great. Think you are still staying at POR, it is our favorite resort. KTK tour is a great time.

Your house is looking fantastic!

Welcome!!! We are still staying at POR...I am so excited, as I have heard pretty much nothing but great things about it! Glad to hear you liked the tour, as well. We are doing so many new things this trip (as we likely won't make it back to Disney in the near future), so I am hoping they are all worth our extra dollars!

6/10/14: It's gonna be a long one! #TWSS

Helllooooooo!!!!!!

How is everyone? Doing well? Enjoying spring/almost summer? I know I am, even with some storms here and there (as long as they aren't damaging, I love a good storm).

This is going to be quite an update, so the questions above are rhetorical.

THE PLANS

They are what they are and they shall not be changed.
BAHAHAHAHAH.

This has already changed a bajillionian times and will probably change a trilltonian more times. So, I will give you the dirty deets for now and a more…er…static version closer to the trip. I think I forgot to share this previously, but all our tickets are Park Hoppers.

Friday night or Saturday: Fly to Greenville, SC. Visit with the sisters and attend the Greenville Fall Festival and perhaps celebrate my mama’s birthday there (they live in the mountains of KY…and I mean, THE MOUNTAINS) but may meet us in SC so she can see my other sisters, too. There should be some good pics from that whole mess. Those two sisters and I (I have a total of 4 sisters)…when we get together…we be crazy. We also drink profusely. So, there’s that.

Monday: Get up way early and drive (yep) to Orlando. All adult beverage consumption must cease by 6pm Sunday night. It’s about 8 hours according to Google maps. But, they haven’t been in a car with me. I will kill that time. Don’t challenge me, GPS. Actually, I have been playing with Roadtrippers – check it out if you haven’t. It’s a website and app that let you plan road trips and add in all things you want to do and see along the way and give you all needed info. Now, I was thinking about making some detours, but other than food, I don’t think we will do it. But, check out Roadtrippers fo sho.

Upon arrival, we will check into our offsite hotel for the evening. It is the Star Island Resort and Spa in Orlando. With Orbitz, we got it for $94 and it is a 4 start hotel! Score! The daily fees only add up to $10/day, as well, which is another huge score. Free wifi, free parking, etc. Their little bar onsite is supposed to be decent as well. We will lounge by the pool or maybe in the pool…but definitely near the pool. Maybe we will make some spa ressies if we feel like it. Massages for all.

Tuesday:
Check out of said off-site hotel.
Breakfast: Crystal Palace
Fantasyland – FIRST TIME!!!!!!!!!
POR Check In!
Epcot for the rest of the day for FWF
8pm: Illuminations Cruise – SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited.

Wednesday:
8:30am: Keys to the Kingdom Tour (lunch at Columbia House included)
Likely go back to the room and rest/swim.
Epcot EMH until 11pm…this might be the night folks…the night to:

DRINK AROUND THE WORLD

Thursday:
Morning: Cure hangover
This day is being kept wide open. We have dinner ressies at Le Cellier, but I would really like to do some resort hopping and then just whatever at MK & Epcot that we didn’t hit being there the previous two days.

Friday:
Morning: AK EMHs 8-9am
Head to HS for Brown Derby Lunch w/ An Imagineer
Rest of day at HS

Saturday:
Head to Universal for HP World!!!! First Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rest of the day is swim/relax/pool

Sunday:
The hated day. Go home.

Thoughts? Suggestions? AA referrals?

Money Pit Update
Haha just kidding…sort of. We have several rooms almost completely finished (with the exception of those "little things" that seem to take forever to get done)!!!! So, here we go:

Kitchen

This is the area we are the most proud of. We are absolutely in love everything we have chose and done. There are a few items missing still (as mentioned above)...crown moulding for the top of the cabinets, backsplash, etc. But, the overall feel is there!

KitchenampEntry_zpsc88b6269.jpg
[/IMG]

This photo includes our entry way, which you can see the newly stained and trimmed front door! That door was actually there when we purchased the place, and we just put on stain and trim! This kitchen is VERY close to our dream kitchen.:love::love:

This kitchen island is something we are very proud of. When we bought our kitchen cabinets, we bought them at an auction. This island wasn't included - we (meaning Tim while I handed him tools) actually made this out of a 2nd lazy susan that came with the set that we had no place for. Tim designed and constructed the whole thing by himself. I, of course, LOVE the appliances. This is actually a convection oven - if you have ever used one, you KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Everything I put in there cooks perfectly. It's amazing.

This will be our little kitchen office nook. These cabinets were also part of the set and worked perfectly. We will have a small desk here and some shelving in the corner. If you can tell, my first item in the glass cabinets is a Mickey teapot set.:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Living Room

The main focus of this room is obviously that fantastic fireplace. We learned from the original own that various pieces of rock that make this up are from all sorts of different places in the western US area nd Mexico. Seeing it in person is pretty impactful…many of the rocks have mica in them so there is this way awesome shimmer going on when light hits it.

This room has SO MUCH TRIM. It’s bonkers town. But, man, I cannot WAIT to decorate.

The Green Room

This room is affectionately called “The Green Room”. I am pretty sure it was supposed to be the master bedroom, but it is a big space and we are going to use it as a family room room plus office. That closet will actually be a big entertainment center. The French doors lead outside, which is where a large deck and hot tub will be (and maybe a pool someday!). Our last home had a HUGE master and it was such a waste of space. We never did get the layout right and we weren’t in there enough to justify it. So, we are taking a smaller bedroom as the master bedroom.

Tiffany Bathroom

I was inspired on Pinterest for the master bath to do a darker shade on the ceiling and the huge crown moulding (which we are obviously huge fans of anyway). I call it my Tiffany bathroom because the colors are so close to Tiffany blue. The ceilings in there are very tall, so it works. All the fixtures have a squareness about them. You might have seen some of those details in previous posts. It is a long, narrow bathroom, so it is a bit difficult to take photos of. But, I love it!

The Undone

Sounds like a stupid scary movie title, huh? We do have the hallway done and the guest room done, but you’ve seen the guest and the hallway isn’t all that exciting.

Last on the list is the laundry room, side entry, basement, guest bath and master. It does sound like quite a bit left, but we have quite a bit done in each room, they just aren’t fully completed. We are actually hoping to finish the laundry and get a ton done on the master this weekend!
I would show you halfway through photos, but they are awful and probably not worth your time, haha!

So, that is where we stand! I will have finished photos for you hopefully in a month or two, along with more trip updates!!! Wahooo!!!!!

Your plans look great and your house looks wonderful. :lovestruc

I understand your comment about the mountains. We are headed up to Boone, NC for July 4th. We hope to retire there one day.

I always plan to visit different resorts to take pics and never do.:sad2:

Hey there,

I figure one good turn deserves another, I'm joining in to your PTR since you joined into mine! :wave2:

Your plans look like a lot of fun. We did the Illuminations Cruise back in 2011. It was a pretty neat way to go! You can trek out my November 2011 TR for my review. (Linked in my signature below.)

Are you doing it on your own, or getting in on a cruise share. There is a thread here on the DIS about sharing Illuminations/Wishes cruise - HERE That's what we did, as it saved lots of money versus buying it ourselves, and it was actually a lot more fun doing it with a group of DISers.

Would love to do the KTTK tour someday, but alas not to be this trip...keeping to a tight budget and all...if it's not food and drink we are trying not to buy it.

The Lunch with the Imagineer sounds fun, another someday thing. We may be at the next table listening in, we have a lunch booked at the Brown Derby the same day!

Anyways, I'll be following along, perhaps we will be able to plan a DISmeet during our trips!

And your house looks lovely, BTW.

Edit: You should shorten up your signature. Your ticker is getting cut off. Smaller font or less spaces! (The reason for my tiny font!)

We are getting very close to finished! All rooms and moved in my mid-July!

I LOVE NC! Such a beautiful state. I hope your retirement dreams come true!
