I am going to Disney in June and I'm looking for a new camera. Have been looking at the Nikkon and Sony cameras. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One way would be to get on the disney trip reports board and look over the threads that have awesome pictures, and then ask the poster what camera they used. I know they are willing to share:surfweb:I am absolutely blown away with some of the photographer-quality pictures (my favorite is the Castle during Wishes) that our fellow DISboarders capture:wizard:

I had a wonderful Olympus Dslr camera..took nice pictures but was way to big and bulky! I did months of research and comparrisons..I looked at probably 35 camera's.and finally purchased the Canon G11. My concern was picture quality in low light and sensor quality in the camera. I take alot of indoor pics...It is technically still a point and shoot camera but has many features of a Dslr..it makes amazing pics. I can't wait to use it at Disney this year!!
It is not cheap but its a fantastic camera!!!

You might want to ask this on our Photography board. It is found near the bottom of the main Forum Page in the Just For Fun section.

We have the Nikon D40 DSLR and have been very happy with it. I really love how there is almost no shutter delay, which is great for taking pictures of the kids on rides. Also, my family doesn't tend to blink with this flash, like they did with some of our previous cameras. My advice is to go to a camera store and try them out to see what you're comfortable with.

I was in need of a new camera, my old one was limping by but not trustworthy. I got a Nikon S630 and used it a few times before my trip to WDW. It was about $190 on amazon. It works great and I got tons of really good pictures. It's small and fits fine in my pocket. It's really fast picture to picture and at startup. That is great for grabbing the moment. It has 7x zoom and takes really good movies for a camera. I used a SDHC card that has a class 6 speed rating.
