Upcoming DVC Expansion?

Ah, so you've never been to the Rockies...with the exception of mid April to June 1st (Mud Season), the rest of the year is pretty well booked at the resorts. Anyone who thinks Colorado is a winter only destination has never been here. Try booking a resort in July at Vail. Might have better luck booking the BWV during the wine festival

I agree with this. Locals out there say, "Winters are wonderful, but summer's why we live here!" Summers are beautiful in the mountains.

Having said that, I think Disney will stick with what they do, not try to branch out into other areas. I'm looking for theme park resorts, not "offsite."

Animal Kingcom is a given! California has been announced.

As far as future DVC...........

1. CRV (but not necessarily next)
2. A second California resort (I think the 50 room addition will sell out fast)
3. EP (eventually, but after CRV)

Wish list.....

1. Caribbean destination, but I don't think Castaway Cay can handle a resort.
2. Hawaii would be nice, but I don't really think it would ever happen.
3. Small DVC addition at Poly and Grad Floridian.

I don't see overseas expansion. Can't imagine how MS can handle those calls from Hong Kong or Paris. I would think the anything overseas would have to be in a new internatinal division. Too much red tape to overcome.

I don't think that you will see a resort in Colorado or another location that is too seasonal. Hard to sell those off-peak points. I think HH and VB tuaght them too many lessons there.

It's still a rumor but things have been hapening pretty fast lately. So fast that DVc is becomming like the weather in Maine. If you don't like it now, wait a minute.

OK, so I'm new here & you've got my curiosity up - I want to know what / where this Eagle Pines is? Need the scoop!

IMO I don't think there's room for much of anything else in DL. I mean that place is surrounded already. It would be a HUGE undertaking to build something else there from scratch - there just isn't enough room.

I'm sure CV is on the short list - prob. next after AKV since they've already started working on it.

Hawaii is definitely a nice thought...but I think it's just that - a nice thought & seriously doubt that dream would ever come true...

I'm all out of guesses on this one....

OK, so I'm new here & you've got my curiosity up - I want to know what / where this Eagle Pines is?

Eagle Pines is (was) the DVC Resort that was anounced before SSR but was never built. It is in limbo. Disney has never said they aren't building it but they have stopped talking about it too. It is located near the Eagle Pines Golf Course. It was to be a big DVC with 600 units.

I truly hope it is Eagle Pines. I like that location over there and I really liked the plans when they came out with them. I like the large spacious resorts like SSR.

I'm still holding out that it's really going in Sammie's backyard!!

I like the "Al Qaeda" villas -- maybe an Afghan theme. A little defoliant anywhere on property and it should be ready to go. Park in front of your own cave so no long hallways. Helicopter to the parks.



Seriously, discovery island would be a COOL spot although I know it's not on any real list.
