I am planning to take my son to DW for his 15th birthday. It's not a surprise trip. He knows we are either going to DLR or DW. I can spend 3 nights (4 days) at the DL Hotel OR spend an entire week at DW for almost the same amount of money (a couple hundred dollars difference). The only problem for ME is that would mean staying at the ASSp motel as opposed to a Deluxe resort. Now my son LOVED staying at the ASMu in August so I am thinking this is a no-brainer. The dates for the trip are December 19 through the 26th.

Pros?
Cons?

Anyone wish to chime in?

Hmm, please forgive my bluntness, but it seems strange to me that you would want to come all this way to WDW from California twice in less than 4 months. (Sorry, I say here b/c I live in SoFla.) I guess this is the wrong place to question that type of motivation. Sorry! :hippie:

I'm not a big fan of the Values, so spending a week there isn't too appealing to me. We'll see how I feel in a few years when I have kids. :scared1: It's hard to get a read from your post as to what you're used to if you're considering both a deluxe and a value. But it might be a neat experience for you guys to have X-mas in Florida (assuming you're Christian). Just kind of something you can say you did. And if your son loves ASMu, then I suppose you're right - it is a no-brainer.

Well, my son is 12 and he wouldn't know the diff between a value or deluxe:confused3 , I would, but since it's his B-day, do what you think he would want.
My DS 12, DM 65 & Me 42, are going to WDW in 5wks to stay @ Pop. DS is so excited he can't think or talk about anything other then the trip:yay: . He's driving his sister's crazy!:rotfl:
I hope you and your son have a blast!

Well, its all settled, my son wants to bring 2 friends so we are staying in California this time. We will do WDW this summer again. . .
