First of all, I went to preface this by saying that I totally understand how anxious some of you are to start your Disney trip in the next few days. I also agree that we must go on with life and not let the terrorists win. However, I am reading that a lot of you are still planning on flying out tomorrow, Saturday, etc. I would really urge you all to rethink that decision. Not because I feel like it would be unsafe...on the contrary, I firmly believe that the next few days will probably be the safest times ever to fly. But as somebody who is stranded away from home, I am having a horrible time trying to even get a flight home. I am actually stuck in Orlando (not at Disney though) and am so desperate to go home. Please, if you are planning to go on vacation, do not clog up the airports. I am sorry if you disagree with me but there are so many people stuck at this hotel with me (and all over the country) who just want to get home and we cannot get seats because everything is booked up. Supposedly, my airline (united) said that they will give priority to those who were supposed to fly out on Tuesday (which I was) over those regularly scheduled for the rest of the week. But they need those confirmed passengers to call and officially cancel so they can see where they are on inventory. Right now the earliest flight I can get is Saturday evening.
I realize that my predicament is far better than what thousands of Americans are facing today and I don't mean to sound ungrateful. Like I said, I completely understand how much you want to get to DisneyWorld, but please remember those who are away from home and really do need a seat on a plane more than you do. Thank you for listening to me vent my frustrations.
