This week Mom and Dad got to see the movie Up and watching it brought memories of how my dad and mom have always had a wonderful friendship with each other just like Carl and Ellie do in the movie. My mom thought it was sad at the end but she loved Up a lot. Because of Up Carl and Ellie are my mom and dad's favorite Disney characters and now Mom is collecting merchandise of Up

Up is absolutely a great movie, but it's one that I don't watch too often due to how sad it is right at the beginning. Pixar really gives you a gut-punch right out of the gate on that one!

One of the reasons I love Up is for Dug. It is very clear dog lovers were involved in all aspects of the creation of the character and that includes Bob Peterson who voiced the character.

To make it worse, my grandmother had recently passed away when I first saw it. It's a tough one for me.

One day, I"m going to try and watch this again , but probably skip that opening. I think the kids had already seen it, but we watched it all together after getting Disney+ a few years ago. I had NO idea how that scene would play out. I started sobbing, just bawling and had to leave the room, they had to pause it for 30 mins. I've never cried like that in front of the kids. That scene brought back all the memories of my mom's passing at home, in her hospice bed, and Daddy there holding her hand. They'd been married almost 60 years. The younger. kids just under 1 and 3 when she passed away, and never got to really know her beauty and love. Thank good ness my older son did. Anyway, I don't honestly know if I really got to pay attention and enjoy the rest of it. The kids like it. I am just gonna have to rewatch it one day.
