I took the kids to see it today and I think that Pixar has outdone themselves and that the Oscar should just be handed to them now!
Go see it and take kleenex! I cried 3 times but also laughed alot!:lovestruc

I am taking the kids next Friday. I am making them work for their movie tickets -- Night at the Museum was weeding and this week they helped with major cleaning in the basement. Anyway....

I have zero interest in this movie. It just doesn't look interesting to me at all. I am glad to hear your good review. Did you see it in 3D?

I really want to see it in 3D for our 2 year anniversary on Sunday (DBF and I), but he has these free movie passes that he doesn't know if they'll work. It says something about a surcharge on it for digitial 3D, so we'll see how much it is. He also wears glasses, and doesn't want them to mess with his 3D glasses... arg!

Let me know your thoughts on whichever version you saw. :)

ETA: Susan, did you like Night at the Museum? I was debating between seeing Up and that.

Morgan is dying to see it. We're going next weekend, this one is too busy with the recital and all.

Oh, Z2H, the 3D glasses should fit right over DBF's regular glasses. They're usually nice and big (and so stylish :cool2: ).

I didn't see the first one, so I can't compare. I did like this one. I like Ben Stiller and Hank Azaria. THey were both pretty funny. 6 & 9 year olds loved it. 3 year old liked parts of it -- he is still not very interested in human movies.

I wear glasses too. I can't deal with 3D movies unless I am dead center and I remain completely still. Not sure what that is all about. My older two would like to see the movie in 3D, but I don't think my 3 year old would keep the glasses on the whole time--they'll be too big and he won't want me to hold him on my lap and hold the glasses onto his head for that long.

Oh I can't wait to see this but we're not getting it until Oct 16th for some reason. Will probably be our first night out after baby is born :)

DS and his girlfriend saw UP the other day in 3D. They both really loved it, but they said they didn't think it would make much difference if you saw it in 3D or just regular. DS said the 3D was cool, but there really wasn't anything that just popped out at you. Luckily our theatre is showing it both ways and I think I'll go see it in the regular theatre and save that extra $3 our theatre charges for digital 3D.

We saw Night at the Museum 2 yesterday and it was really good. It's as good as the first one with many more laughs.

We haven't seen Up yet, but went to see Night at the Museum yesterday. It was great. By far the best movie I've gone to see in a long time. Kids were entertained (14, 10, 4 yrs) and Hank Azaria was hilarious. Plus, we're doing DC in October and the kids are now actually excited about going. Up will have to wait.... and no way we're doing 3D. The whole effect gives me migraines. Boys will just have to suffer and see it in 2D in a couple weeks.

Kids and DH went and saw it in 3D yesterday and agree that there is nothing exciting about the effects. DD thinks its better without, so definitely not worth the extra $.
DH still thinks Wall-E is the best and that Up was good but not the best.
So we now have mixed reviews!

I want to see it, but I think I'll have to wait for the DVD. There is no way DH will go to any animated movies, and the girls are way too "cool" for Disney movies in the theater (although they will watch them at home, in secret ;)), so unless I can hijack someone else's little kid, I'm out of luck.

I went to see it when it came out on friday. It was an excellent movie! Absolutely hilarious, adorable and so much fun! You guys saw the Pixar short film before the start of the movie with the clouds making baby animals?

My man laughed so hard he cried thru the entire short film. Don't miss out on it :thumbsup2

You're welcome to come with us! We love animated movies!

Just pick a time, announce that you are going, and GO! If someone wants to tag along they are welcome, but don't let that stop you.

We just got home from seeing it. I really liked it. Better than the last few Pixar movies (not that any of them weren't great too). But the themes of this movie really resonated with me. I always worry that we won't be able to live the life we dreamed about because all of the life stuff that happens along the way. So I try not to wait too much for tomorrow when I don't need to; like waiting to go see a movie. :goodvibes

I want to see this one, too! Looks really cute!

NEE - maybe we can plan a girls' night to see it!

Alright, I'm home! And we loved it. It was funny and serious at the same time.... my boyfriend almost cried twice, he said, and so did I. (He's not that emotional usually, I swear...) We saw it in 3D because his passes worked, and even though he had to wear the 3D glasses weird, he said it was so worth it, and now he wants to see Ice Age 3 and Toy Story 3 in 3D too. :lmao: So much for not wanting to see it in 3D......

We saw both as well...on 2 different weekends... :)

Night at the Museum was good, but Up was wonderful! I also cried...it has a very touching story and I laughed...some of the characters are very funny. We saw it in 3D :3dglasses as well...nothing was designed to come out at you, it was more of a "realistic" environment type of 3D. :cool2:

I will buy them both (and they are counting on that...) but I will watch Up more than one more time...I am considering seeing it again...:thumbsup2
